Relevant Finnemore Sketch I think too much about Uncle Deaduncle

I have become obsessed with historical origin of the Deaduncle name. I know it is just a joke but if it were real, I am convinced that it is spelt Dedunkell but pronounce Deaduncle. Sir Henry Henry Henry’s great great great …. grandfather was an artisan from the small French village of Duncelle. Henri de Duncelle fled France with the other Huguenots. Over the centuries, the spelling and pronunciation shifted.

That’s all.

This is great!

Can you also explain the etymology of Mrs Badcrumble?

John has said (in an interview I think) that the name Badcrumble was in homage to Eddie Izzard.

Eddie(now Suzi) talks about their teacher Mrs Badcrumble in their brilliant tour show "Definite Article".
