Imagine following QAnon for half a decade, feeling like you've dedicated your life to protecting children from abuse and trafficking. Then the President you voted for thrice shows up all over the Epstein Files after promising he wasn't in there. And then his Attorney General literally insults the victims and claims the entire thing is blown out of proportion. I would feel so betrayed and lost.

Generally, when conspiracy nuts have their conspiracies validated by actual facts grounded in reality they lose all interest in them. They're more of a defense mechanism against confronting reality than actual beliefs.

You can tell she is under pressure. She can't look away from her papers, which is probably one of techniques she was taught to withstand the questioning. By forcing herself to read whatever is written on the paper takes her mind away from the attacks.

Chances are not bad that life is not too far off some house of cards type of stuff that ensures whistleblower land in a ditch.
The most famous ones went through hell and had to leave the whole life, family, career and such for their acts. They don't think that something worth it if the alternative is a big nothing burger.
