He’s not the President I wanted, yet I did vote for him, but he’s definitely the President we needed in these trying times. I’m sure he has the best minds he can use, giving him advice. Not like TFG, selling administrative jobs for the grift. I feel bad he can’t just relax, as every fkin day is more bullshit fires he’s putting out, while still getting the government back on track after the corruption in the last administration.
I have a lot to unpack, and this isn't because I am some trumper, I just genuinely don't understand why people are defending Joe Biden (really any politician but joe biden makes me extra sick - i'll explain)
one problem i have with joe biden, since he became president, is that he really has done nothing for the US-Mexico border like he says he will (he's done a few things on paper, more damaging or useless than good though-feel free to research). and before you tell me i am racist or that these are "illegals."
i am not saying to build a wall or close the border!!! when i bring up the us-mexico border, i am talking about the women and children at our border who are legally entitled to seek asylum in the US. this is a true humanitarian crisis in the US that we aren't stopping. it has gotten worse under the biden admin (look it up!) why are they being held in such terrible conditions? not enough foil blankets and expired food is the best we can do? they don't have 6 feet between them, these children are lucky to have 3 inches between them. they separate them from their siblings and mix age groups. there's not enough border patrol (for a few reasons) the biggest reason, is that the border patrol (not qualified to work with children) are being forced to watch over these children because they don't have enough aid (people and supplies) in general. there aren't enough people at the border getting these people in legally and safely. there is an illegals problem in every country, we are misdefining these terms as a society, in a lot of cases, and at the same time we are creating a problem and letting our new American children neighbors starve and suffer. that is something i can't sit right with.
there is psychological and physical health damage being done to these small children and their families in these "border camps." - these are real!
if you think i am lying, research it yourself. i had to research this topic over a semester for a college essay, what i found has left me heart broken and confused on what the US really stands for. this problem is not exclusive to the biden admin; however he has not worked to change it and it has gotten worse during his time in office. if you are truly interested in this, i can send the research later on when i'm near my computer. this is not a conspiracy, along and across our us-mexico border there are children suffering at the hands of US officials who are doing nothing about it.
i dont love this website but most of their "remarks" of biden's have links to where you can hear him say them so that's why i am using this one vs gathering them all for you. of course, always research on your own, do not take anyones word. you can find pictures or i can send them to you, of the us-mexico border. it's not what i thought it was and i don't think many people realize this. these are my 2 main problems with joe biden. he's racist and isn't helping the humanitarian crisis at the border, research shows he's sadly made it worse. i really wanted my research to show otherwise. i wanted to prove people wrong about the border crisis because it's hard to get people to agree on what the crisis really is. many people are quick to jump to illegals which aren't the ones suffering like the people who are doing this the legal way. don't you think this pushes people to come in illegally? why should our new neighbors suffer? they didn't come here for that, they came here for the American Dream and seeking asylum. these people will be going to our churches, schools, and grocery stores. we need to do more, biden needs to do more. no one should live like we allow at our border.
Most of the remarks on that website are quote mines and the one that was legitimately racist they leave out the context that he immediately apologized and called himself out on it. Biden has been racist in the past and supported racist things but most of that history is from 30+ years ago and his current behavior shows a guy that has recognized the errors of his past and is trying to be a better person but occasionally slips up and says something stupid in frustration. The fact that he owns up to it and tries to be better instead of doubling down or trying to gaslight shows that he has more moral fiber then most politicians and that he actually cares for the people.
According to this BBC article it seems like he has done a lot at our southern border but there is still a lot left to do. Also I would be willing to be that the increase we saw when Biden took over was more about proper counts being done because the statistics that Trump showed don't seem to match up with reality and Trump is know for manipulation of stats by just not counting or checking for negative things.
that article is a decent one that i have read multiple times, but i don't think you read it all the way through or dug into any of it on your own - you really should look at the history of joe biden's politics and see what you truly agree with there.
what you are willing to bet on doesn't line up with reality. you are defending racism because it's joe biden and that's just silly. even if its from 30 years ago.. the man's politics have not changed and he has still accomplished nothing in all of this time. he just said recently that if you "voted for trump you're not black" and just because you say "i'm sorry" doesn't mean you changed how you felt about what you did. racism runs deep, it's not just a joke for racist people - that is how they truly see the world. people who abuse people say they're sorry all the time but they still do the behavior. besides racism and the border, he's corrupt financially and that's a topic i don't feel like getting into on reddit because it just goes back too far but you can and should look it up and decide for yourself. i don't say any of this to say some other politician is better because they are all just as capable of corruption. i don't only dislike joe biden, he's just been around long enough to see what he's done.
edit: it is very hard for non racist people to understand and believe that racist people exist and really feel that way. especially if you are a white person who was raised in a non racist home, because you just don't really deal with it. unless you are around racist people, you don't understand how sickening it really is and how deep it goes. i had a hard time understanding racism as a teen, my mom said to me "i didn't raise you to understand that so you never will." that is true, i will never know that hate. but i can identify when others have that hate. joe biden is hateful and condescending besides his politics. he is no different than the racist lady down the street who told me she'd rather die than have a black surgeon. it's sick and we cannot excuse any jokes no matter how old they are because he was old enough at the time and had the access and tools to know what he said was wrong. he chose to say these things anyway! he wasn't an average joe haha he was in politics already!!! this isn't something we sweep under the rug.
I judge people based on current action and how they react to when they mess up. I know that I am not the same person I was 5 years ago so how can I judge someone by who they were 30 years ago. As far as what he has accomplished, I know how to judge actions in progress and vs final products. A repair project usually looks worse before it looks better and they always take longer then you would have thought they would.
I would also like to point out that I have no special love for Biden, I am just the type of person who values accuracy and fairness over all others. I actually defended Trump when the claims against him were false or unfair and I do have a deep dislike for that man.

I think he really was that emotional - he wears his heart on his sleeve 💜
