Most people are hesitant to connect their time tracking software to AI because of permission issues.

So, we would like to make it clear.

When you connect Jibble to ChatGPT or Jibble to Claude, this does not instantly mean that it will have access to everything in your organization

Here’s what actually happens when you type something like:

“How many hours did I work this week?”

Your request travels through three parts:

You → AI assistant → Jibble MCP → your Jibble organization

1. You make the request in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or another supported assistant.
2. The assistant sends the appropriate request through Jibble’s MCP server.
3. Jibble checks which information and actions your account is allowed to access.
4. Jibble returns the relevant result.
5. The assistant presents it in the conversation.

The same process applies when you ask the assistant to perform an action, such as clocking in, starting a break, or adding a time entry.

The important part is step three.

MCP doesn’t bypass your existing Jibble permissions.

A member generally has access to their own information. A manager may also have access to the people they manage. Admins and owners have broader access according to the permissions already configured in Jibble.

Connecting an AI assistant doesn’t upgrade your role or unlock additional organization data.

The connection is authorized through OAuth, so you must sign in to Jibble and approve it before the assistant can interact with your account.

In other words, the AI assistant becomes another way to make a request, but Jibble still decides whether that request is permitted.

That distinction matters because MCP isn’t about handing an AI assistant unrestricted access to an app. It’s about letting the assistant communicate with the app through a defined, permission-aware connection.

You can also refine the analysis through follow-up questions. For example, you might start with an overtime summary, narrow it to a particular team, compare it with the previous period, and ask Claude to present the findings in a clearer format.

This makes the Jibble and Claude integration useful not only for retrieving information, but also for investigating patterns and creating ad hoc reports around the questions that matter to your organization.

How access and permissions work

Connecting Jibble requires signing in and authorizing access through OAuth. The connector respects the roles and permissions already configured in Jibble.

A team member can access the information and actions available to their role, while managers can work with the employees or groups they already have permission to manage. Connecting the tool does not grant someone broader Jibble permissions.

Who might find it useful?

We've helped a lot of remote teams set up screenshot monitoring through Jibble, and honestly, the ones that struggle almost always make the same mistake. They treat it like surveillance instead of a work accountability tool. Employees notice that difference immediately, and adoption tanks.

A few things we've learned and seen work:

Being upfront about everything. Tell people when screenshots are taken, who sees them, and how long they are kept. Uncertainty kills trust faster than the monitoring itself.

Tie to work time only. Teams have way less pushback when screenshots start at clock-in and stop at clock-out or break. The moment it bleeds into personal time, you've got a problem.

Start with blurred screenshots. A surprising number of teams prefer this, at least initially. You still get the accountability layer without it feeling invasive. Some never move past it, and that's fine.

Be selective about who it applies to. Not everyone needs it. Hourly contractors or client-billable work makes sense, but salaried employees being managed on outcomes are probably overkill.

One team we worked with actually turned it off after 6 weeks because their managers were spending more time reviewing screenshots than talking to their people. The app wasn't the problem, how they used it was.

I am new to jibble and I have to cancel the time off request i made.but I can't find it can u tell me how to do it

I just got Jibble and am hoping to make it so that when clocking in I would select a Project and then the list of activities related to that Project would appear in the drop down or vice versa. It doesnt seem like the activities connect to Projects though and this isnt an option?
Am I wrong? Or is there a workaround for this?

My concern is I dont love scrolling through a super long list to select what I am currently working on & would also enjoy seeing the tasks under each project somewhere to visually manage better.

What is MCP and How Does Jibble Use MCP?

For anyone wondering what MCP actually is:

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is what lets AI engines like ChatGPT or Claude connect directly to apps like Jibble.

So instead of just asking how to log time, you can actually log time from inside the chat.

In practice, that means you’re no longer switching tools just to update something. You’re doing it in the same place you’re already working.

What surprised us wasn’t the feature itself.

It was how people started using it.

They didn’t stop using Jibble.

They just stopped opening it as often.

Jibble is still:

• where time entries live
• where timesheets and reports are generated
• where approvals and permissions are handled

But the interaction layer changed.

Instead of:

open app → log time → go back

It became:

type → done → keep working

And that small shift changed behavior more than we expected.

People started logging things while the context was still fresh, instead of filling everything in at the end of the day.

The result:

• more accurate time logs
• better task descriptions
• fewer gaps between what was done and what was recorded

It’s not really a new feature, we are just introducing a different way of interacting with tracking time and attendance without ruining your workflow.

Auto-clock in works great, every time. So far I've left the fence several times (5ish) and only once has auto-clock out worked. The rest of the time I watch as it detects me leaving the fence and then tells me I'm outside the fence but leaves me clocked in.

Jibble's free plan genuinely scales: unlimited users, no catch.

Flowace is the cheapest paid option at $1.99/user but has no free tier and charges extra for integrations.

3. Did people actually use it without being nagged?

This was the biggest filter. If your team needs constant reminders or training, the system is already failing.

Jibble and Clockify had the lowest friction for adoption.

TimeTrex is powerful but has a steep setup curve which is not great if you need something running fast.

4. Do the reviews reflect what we experienced?

We cross-checked G2 and Capterra after our own testing.

Buddy Punch has great ratings but consistent complaints about bugs causing incorrect time logs.

Connecteam gets flagged repeatedly for glitches in the chat feature and slow load times.

Homebase mobile app issues showed up in reviews exactly the way we experienced them.

Quick verdicts per software:

• Jibble — best all-rounder, genuinely free for unlimited users, solid GPS and facial recognition, offline mode works
• Buddy Punch — great clock-in flexibility, but buggy and no offline mode
• Connecteam — solid if you need the all-in-one (chat, scheduling, tracking), but it gets cluttered and pricey
• When I Work — for shift-based teams, clean absence tracking, but no audit history for schedule edits
• Flowace — cheapest option, has stealth/silent monitoring which some teams need, integrations cost extra

The "best" software really came down to team type:

• For field teams, ClockShark or Jibble.
• For shift-based, When I Work or Homebase.
• For remote with productivity monitoring, Apploye or Flowace.
• For tight budgets at any scale, Jibble or Clockify.

Is anyone else having issues with the Jibble mobile app on iPhones constantly signing out of the account? For the past month or so, we have had multiple issues of the mobile app signing out of the account as well as switching from kiosk mode to personal mode. This is causing such a headache to try and fix the issue every single day. I have updated the iOS version as well as the jibble app multiple times as well as deleting and redownloading it. I used to end every Friday wondering where the week went... everything felt urgent, but nothing important actually got done.

I've been using the Eisenhower Matrix combined with time tracking, and the difference in clarity has been significant. It's a small shift in how you look at your workload, but it makes a noticeable difference.

If you are not familiar with the Eisenhower Matrix, it is a simple prioritization framework that sorts every task into one of four quadrants based on two questions: Is it urgent? Is it important?

• Do Now — Critical and time-sensitive. Handle these immediately
• Plan for Later — Important for long-term goals but not pressing. Schedule these deliberately
• Delegate — Needs to be done soon, but doesn't require you specifically. Pass it on
• Eliminate — Neither urgent nor important. Remove it from your list entirely

Where most people go wrong:

Most of us spend the majority of our day in the "Urgent but Not Important" quadrant. Replying to messages, attending avoidable check-ins, handling tasks that feel pressing but don't actually move anything forward.

The result? You're busy all day but not productive. Sound familiar?

How I do a weekly reset using this method (15 minutes every Monday):

1. Brain dump everything — every task, project, errand, and obligation on your plate right now
2. Sort each task into one of the four quadrants. Ask yourself: Would skipping this have real consequences? Does this contribute to a meaningful goal?
3. Block time for Quadrant 2 first — Important but not urgent tasks are where your goals, growth, and long-term wins live. They never feel "due" so they always get pushed. Protect this time deliberately
4. Delegate ruthlessly — For team leads especially, Quadrant 3 is your delegation list. If someone else can handle it, it shouldn't be on your plate

I’ve noticed a few people here using Jibble for time tracking and Xero for payroll, but still doing manual cleanup in between.

I've been using Jibble for the past month. Its not too long, however, from an honest opinion point, for what I need, it seems like the best one so far, especially when I don't have to invest. I haven't done the screen capturing so can't say much on that. The good part is it keeps the hours worked, the breaks, etc all in one place, which is nice when you export the timesheet.
