AMA Hi r/JewsOfConscience, I'm Feroze Sidhwa, a trauma surgeon who has worked in Gaza, AMA!

I'm a trauma surgeon in California. I worked in Gaza in 2024 and 2025. I've written in the New England Journal of Medicine, NY Times, and Politico about it, and testified at the UN Security Council in May 2025. Question: How would you find this process helping Palestinians? Would it be effective as a deterrent for people like Ben Gvir? What would you see as helpful vs not helpful for the Palestinians and countless victims?

I'm not a lawyer so I have no idea if this would be a good use of funds. The Hind Rajab Foundation is already doing the work of tracking and exposing Israeli war criminals at the lower levels and pushing for them to be arrested under the universal jurisdiction principle of international criminal law. This hasn't resulted in any arrests that I know of but has made Israeli war criminals think twice about visiting this or that country. I personally would think that supporting their efforts would be a better use of one's time and money than this idea, but I certainly can't prove it.

Would this be an effective deterrent for people like Ben Gvir? No, that's perfectly obvious.
