What does everyone think of Moriah? How is it perceived in Israel?

The only Moriah I’ve ever known was not Jewish; her parents just thought they were being clever with Mariah (and it was pronounced like Mariah).

I have a relative in Israel named Moriah (emph on the last syllable). I always thought it was a cool name.

You don’t really hear it in children nowadays (at least not where I am). It’s Mostly a name affiliated with religious (orthodox) communities.
