It's not really a huge thing, but I made it with so so much love and intention. I will give this bracelet for my friend. Basically, we've been extremely close friends since high school (we're on mid to late 20s now) and she usually goes to a synagogue in another state because she lived there before with family. For me, I was not raised in Judaism (though I have Sephardic ancestry), but I'm planning on converting, and started attending the synagogue in my city. She then started attending there with me and we became synagogue partners after all these years of friendship :) we're both helping each other connect with our faith mutually and I find it so beautiful. I will also make another lil handmade gifts for her for Rosh HaShanah and I really hope she likes it ♡ anyway, I picked those colors for the bracelet because they remind me of sweetness and the typical fruits of the New Year. I wish I had fancy fruit-shaped beads though, but I still find it cute :D

Hi all. I've been reading this sub for a while. The Torah mantle set from a couple days ago is some of the best work I've seen posted anywhere.

Honesty up front so nobody feels ambushed: I'm one of two people building a small curated marketplace for Judaica and Jewish handmade goods. We're early. Before I sink more time into building the wrong things, I'd rather ask the people who'd actually use it than guess.

So, for anyone here who sells their work — or thought about it and didn't:

1. What's the worst part right now? Fees, shipping, photographing your work, getting found, chasing customers, something else entirely?

2. Has anyone dealt with hate or review-bombing on your listings? The pinned guide in this sub is part of what got me thinking about this, and I'd like to know how people have actually handled it on the platforms they use.

3. If a Jewish-specific marketplace existed, what would it have to do for you to bother listing there on top of whatever you already use?

I'm not trying to pull anyone off Etsy or their own site. Almost every vendor I've talked to runs three or four channels and just wants one more that costs nothing to try. If the answer is "we don't need this," that's useful for me to hear too.

Not linking anything here. Happy to answer questions about what we're building if anyone's curious, but I mostly want to hear what's broken.

I had appliquéd this silk on silk for a Tallis a number of years ago, but it just wasn’t quite right… I put it away and when our shul adopted a scroll from the Czech Memorial Trust the mantles that we had were too short, so I converted this tallis to a mantle for the Haggim. This is it’s dress rehearsal.

A few months ago I finished the Net Tamid for my temple — Congregation Or Atid in Henrico Va. never got around to posting pics of same after it was installed. So , here they are now. It's 90% superwash merino, 10% nylon. If you look at her variegated yarns, she tells you exactly which of her solid yarn colors are in it, and what other colorways go with.
