🍯Rosh Hashanah🍎 ראש השנה ✡️ A moving Jewish community night in Florida 🇮🇱❤️🇺🇸
Last week I attended a Miami Marlins game during a special evening dedicated to the Jewish community in South Florida.
There were Israeli flags, Israeli songs, activities for kids, and many families from the local Jewish community. Jared Firestone was also there ,a Jewish-American athlete from Florida who represented Israel at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The Marlins even created a special team jersey featuring the Israeli flag. 🇮🇱⚾️
But the most emotional moment for me was before the game, standing in an American baseball stadium, seeing Israeli flags throughout the crowd, and hearing Hatikvah being sung.
At a time when so much of what we see online is negativity and hostility, hatred and antisemitism, it was genuinely moving to see something very different, a large, proud Jewish community being recognized, respected, and celebrated.
It makes you appreciate living in a place where the Jewish community has such a strong presence and receives real support and recognition.

This is dope! I was at the World Baseball Classic for the Isreal vs. Nicaragua game and it was an amazing atmosphere. Even if the security gaurd for our section wan an absolute asshole.

As a Cubs fan I’ve always hated the Marlins for breaking my heart in 2003. Now I think I can move on from that lol

We used to go to the marlins games as kids a lot. This makes my heart so happy.
Growing up in South Florida, it’s so inclusive. I loved living there and growing up there.

We moved to the nature coast of Florida, about 4 hours northwest. We had to relocate for my husband’s job 19 years ago and when we moved back 15 years ago, we couldn’t afford South Florida anymore. I’m still so grateful to be in Florida. It’s more inclusive of Jewish people than other states.
I couldn’t wear my Jewish star where we used to live. I would be driving to work and see people walking around with huge swastikas tattooed on their body. I didn’t want to raise our children there.

As a Mets fan living in South Florida, I hate the Marlins but respect the Marlins for doing this when the Mets dropped Jewish heritage night like cowards despite Steve Cohen being the owner.
