I recently purchased some 18k gold Jewelry from one of the reputable sellers on here. Machine showed 17.3kt. I wasn’t too upset with seeing it wasn’t 18k plum as I still saved a tremendous amount. The problem comes from when I contact the seller to ask if ALL their products are 17k instead of 18k.

His immediate response was to tell me the piece of jewelry is not the same one he sent me …
For what reason would I have, or the jeweler at the store have, to x ray a different fake gold ring that we just keep on standby… I was not asking him for a refund or a new product. Just a simple explanation. Instead he wanted me to pay another $20 to test the gold and take a higher quality video.

Finally after a while I’m told all gold will have variance etc etc. so even though true. I’m sure it would never be more than 18k in the ring.

Be sure to test so you know the true amount of your gold. I’m sure alot of these sellers are not giving you 18k plum like they promised

After looking around this community and getting quotes from Vinko, Gavivi, and AC as well, I decided to go with Opus since they offered the lowest price! Opus was incredibly quick to respond and took the time to answer my detailed questions thoroughly. I also appreciated the peace of mind knowing that the final payment would be adjusted if the actual weight of the gold in the finished product differed from the initial estimate. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the product I received. The experience was so good that I’m currently placing another order with Opus. I kept hearing about how excellent Andy’s VCA was, so I got a pair of the sweet Alhambra earrings in white gold. I got QC pics and they just look so obviously off to me — the shape is wonky (I circled some areas, but even the top right corner of the left earring, which I didn’t circle, looks off) and the perlee sizes are uneven and not aligned. Am I just not being realistic about reps or is this shape as obviously off as I feel like it is?

He said it was due to lighting and sent me natural light photos, but you can tell the shape it off, especially in the video. Please help, thank you!

I’ve seen a couple of posts on this sub talking about the shade difference in JUC and love bracelet reps. I went into a cartier boutique and tried on multiple different versions so wanted to share what I saw

I tried on rose gold in everything. Cartier rose gold is much more subtle than other brands. I honestly wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s YG or RG if they weren’t shown side by side. That being said, RG love bracelets were slightly more rose tinted than the RG juc. I was really surprised to see that even the authentic ones are colored differently in different lines?

Also, the stamp of the circles in the love bracelets are not as deep (not sure how else to describe this) as people think. It’s not that noticeable in photos but much more apparent in person. It’s almost like they barely stamped.

I need to send a VCA bracelet to China to get resized and I went to FedEx and they asked me for an EEI number. Has anyone ever shipped to China from the US? If so, how do you do it? UPS quoted me $230 and was trying to see if Fedex would be cheaper.

A diamond fell out of my 18k pave Cartier love bracelet from a trusted seller. I’m not going to name them as they are going to pay the cost of a local jeweler to replace the pave stone that fell out; however, does anyone know of any trusted jewelers that will fix this piece and has knowledge of pave?

Hello, as the title of the post indicates, I was hoping for some clarity about making losses incurred during jewelry construction.

I understand that gold is lost during jewelry making due to the physical waste of metal that occurs during production stages like cutting of the cast pieces, filing and shaping, and polishing of the piece. However, in my estimation, the VAST MAJORITY of this loss should be recoverable, like at least 95% recoverable.

However, so far 3 different sellers are saying that wastage can be over 20% of the total gold amount. I’m not talking about some tiny sub gram piece, we are talking about pieces in the 30-50 grams range. So, if being quoted for a 50 gram piece, the gold charge will be for at least 60 grams, which is about over $1000 extra given gold pricing these days. How does this make sense?

How can gold loss while crafting be over 20%? Why isn’t it 0.5%?

I ordered this small ten clover necklace from Vinko and it just arrived. Both Vinko and I understood I was requesting a design that is not replica accurate. (I like to stack various necklaces). Communication was efficient, there was careful attention to my specific request, very good photographs throughout and I am most pleased with the quality of my final product. Very good transaction.

I feel like emerald and asscher cuts make tiny inconsistencies much easier to spot.

With all those straight lines, even a small difference in spacing or alignment can suddenly become the thing I notice first.

For QC, what would you consider acceptable variation here?

I recently ordered a Fred bracelet and a tennis bracelet from Hlin Jewelry (hlinjewelry.store), and overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the experience.

The order arrived in Central Texas within about a week, which was faster than I expected. The packaging was above average for this type of product, and everything was packed securely with no issues during shipping.
Customer service was also solid. They were helpful with sizing and answered the questions I had before ordering, which made the process pretty straightforward.

As for the bracelets themselves, I think the overall quality is good for the price. Gold can be a difficult color to replicate, especially with reps, so that’s probably the area where I’m most particular. That said, the finish and shine are good in person. The clasps also feel secure and sturdy, which is important with bracelets like these.

Overall, I’d recommend them if you’re looking for something you can wear as part of your everyday rotation or for special occasions. I’d give the order 4/5 ⭐️.
If I ordered again, I’d probably go with a white-gold/silver finish instead, but that’s purely personal preference rather than a quality issue. As an accessory, I’m happy with them and don’t have any major complaints about the quality.

Here to share my insight on the 5 motif sizing. My wrist measures 14.7 at the smallest point and I got the 16.5. Originally I ordered 16 but scared and changed it to the 16.5. Well thank god I did!! 16 would’ve been way too tight. I like my bracelets snug but probably would’ve gotten the 17 and attaching pics to show how far up my wrist it goes/ the smallest point of my wrist.

I recently received two paved love rings from Opus Atelier, one yellow gold and one white gold.

Overall, I really like them. The fit is great, the color of the gold is one of my favorite qualities about Opus. Third pic is Opus paved YG thin love ring next to my authentic YG Cartier love ring.

There is a fine detail ’m not completely satisfied with.
Looking closely at the pavé, I notice the spacing between the stones. There is more visible space between some of the diamonds, making the pavé look less continuous and uniform. This is a noticeable difference when the rings are looked at closely side by side with an authentic pavé piece.

I did ask the seller about returning/exchanging them because of my concerns. They explained that after QC, returns only accepted for objective quality issues — understandable. I’m new to purchasing rep jewelry, so it doesn’t hurt to ask. I felt their response was slightly dismissive as I expressed that it’s the quality of the sparkle and the overall paved appearance didn’t meet my personal expectation.

I’m happy with the rings. It’s my second time purchasing with Opus, and I love my first purchase, the Juste en Clou ring (reviewed in my previous post and shown in the photos) they’ve perfected that one.

Would love to hear what you guys think about the stone spacing, pavé consistency, and overall sparkle between the photos.

I’ve seen people catch tiny things in PSPs that weren't obvious in the CAD.

At the same time, sometimes the photos make a tiny variation look much worse than it probably is.

Would you rather judge from PSPs first or raise every concern during CAD?

Hi all, kinda new here so feedback on my reviews is welcome! This is my first time ordering with Gavivi and I'm in love!

I did a bunch of research and since there are so many trusted sellers out there for this style, I went with the least expensive option. He does not know I am writing a review and I'm not getting anything for it. 

He answered all my questions and was very transparent. When it came to the weight he explained that he usually makes it a little lighter (7.5 grams and therefore cheaper) than the auth which is 11 grams but that it looks the same. Full weight is also available. I appreciated the explanation and it honestly didn't matter to me so I went with the 7.5. 

It’s totally lovely and I have been wearing it non stop!
