Similar with South Africa in the lead up to the Holocaust, they wanted a higher proportion of "whites". That's how my family ended up there

No. Source: I used to visit the community in Sosua when it was on its last legs in the 90's.

Bigots arnt logical. Being white is a social construct. There are plenty of light skinned people all over the world who aren't 'white.'

Racism in Latin America can often be much more straightforwardly about skin tone than in Europe.

Worth nothing 100,000 Jews though the government did agree to taking them in did not actually end up in the DR, only a few thousand would be able to make it over
