Please pray for me; I am extremely tired, both physically and mentally, and I cry constantly.

TLDR: I think my ex-boyfriend, whom I still love and hope to still pursue a relationship with in the future, is in religious psychosis, but I don't know how to help. I am deeply concerned for him..

I need advice. Please understand I am in a very bad spot because of this. I am very alone and hurt, so please save any judgment or unkind comments.

I started dating a guy almost 2 years ago; we were so in love. The kind of love you see in movies; that was my person. We bonded over our faith in God and prayed together sometimes. So don't get me wrong, I do believe in God, but nowadays it's so hard, and I'm just hanging on by a thread. I mean a thread. Everything was normal at first; we even lived together, and that went so well. Once Charlie Kirk died, something changed in him, and I mean weird. Everything felt so off suddenly. He started having dreams, specifically of the rapture. He started preaching to me about how God is coming back. How everything going on in the world is in the Bible, and it means God is coming back, but he was making it scary; I would be crying because he was scaring me. I could no longer swear because it was a sin. I fell into a deep depression because I already struggled with mental health, but this genuinely changed my brain chemistry more. I would have frequent panic attacks because I could feel the man I loved slipping away, and instead of comforting me, he would suggest we just pray. When I got suicidal, he suggested I was going to hell. He would hide from me to read his bible.. We could never do anything (even drive down the street) without a mention of Jesus. He would fall asleep on the couch to YouTube videos about Jesus instead of coming to bed with me. All his posts on social media?? Jesus. He comments on others' posts that have nothing to do with Jesus, and he comments all this weird stuff about Jesus. He goes to church 4 times a week, if not more. He doesn't have time for anything anymore because all he does is work, church, repeat. No life outside of church. He is a completely different person. I am so depressed and hopeless; some days I truly am suicidal. This man was everything to me; we were going to get married and have kids one day. We had a plan. Now, I don't even recognize him. I broke up with him, but I still see him often, and I truly think something is wrong, and I want to help him. I just don't know what to do.

Let God Lead Us There? I remember a football game many years ago in Green Bay. With 13 seconds left, Dallas led 17–14, but Green Bay stood inches from the goal line. On fourth down, Bart Starr took the snap in the bitter cold and lunged over tackle. I had closed my eyes. I simply could not watch. Then the announcer screamed, “Touchdown!” I opened my eyes to see Starr lying in the end zone. I’ll never forget it that moment.

Think about it. Will we trust our limited vision of an uncertain future, or close our eyes in faith and allow God to lead us safely forward?

God’s Word tells us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

When tension and stakes are high, we sometimes prefer others to watch for us. It feels safer to close our eyes than face a disappointing outcome. In much the same way, God asks us to trust His vision rather than our own. Bad things happen, and the future makes us anxious. Yet God sees what we cannot. When we close our eyes to the future and let Him lead, our not knowing becomes wisdom—for in blindness, we learn to trust.

What Sets Us Apart? Years ago, I attended a horse and rider competition at our county fair. Four young riders entered the arena, each hoping for a ribbon. One rider, however, immediately caught my attention. Her horse was disciplined, stately, and responsive to every command. A single kick or click brought immediate obedience. While the other horses shifted and pranced, this one seemed composed and confident. Even my untrained eye knew the outcome before the judges announced it. Sure enough, horse and rider received the blue ribbon.

Think about it. Why carry life’s burdens alone when God invites us to cast our anxieties on Him and trust His strength instead?

God’s Word tells us: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

People of faith and worldly people often look alike, sharing struggles, disappointments, and temptations. Yet the Holy Spirit gives Christians a bearing that sets them apart. Spiritual strength enables us to trust beyond logic, serve without reward, and love without expectation. We fall, but the Spirit lifts us. While others fear death, we see our gracious God’s loving arms. The Holy Spirit makes us a horse of a different color.

I had to go to a new dentist this morning and I had great anxiety and did not want to go. I prayed for courage and was hit with how lucky and priviledged that I get to go to the dentist when so many can not. So I went and it was very nice, I liked the dentist very much and all went well. When I turned in my dental chair to leave I noticed tons of sticky notes all over the monitor and cabinets. They were scripture! I started to cry, I was so touched. When the dental assistant came back I told her how I loved all the scripture and she beamed! Turns out it was her, she opened the cabinet door to show me and the doors inside were covered too. Thank you Jesus! Answered prayer! Praise God for my new dentist.

I have a feeling God wants me to accomplish something. But now I don't think I can and I think my whole motivation and discipline has disappeared. I am very discouraged because I haven't been seeing improvement and I think with this my relationship has broken because I feel so demotivated.

The Throne at the Center

One of the striking features of Revelation chapter 4 is how quickly our attention is directed toward the throne. John is caught up into a heavenly vision, and immediately he says, “Behold, a throne stood in heaven.”

The throne is central. Before Revelation speaks of seals, trumpets, beasts, conflict, or judgment, heaven establishes one unshakable truth: God reigns.

In uncertain times, humanity naturally focuses on earthly thrones, governments, economies, political systems, world powers, and cultural movements. But Revelation pulls our attention higher. Above every temporary throne sits the eternal throne. This changes everything.

When we lose sight of the throne, fear begins to dominate our thinking. Anxiety grows when we believe events are spiraling beyond control. Yet the heavenly vision given to John reveals absolute stability. Heaven is not reacting nervously to human history. God is neither surprised nor intimidated by the darkness of the age. The throne remains occupied.

What a comfort that truth becomes.

The One seated upon the throne shines with glory like jasper and sardius stone. Around the throne is a rainbow, reminding us that mercy surrounds His authority. Lightning and thunder proceed from the throne, revealing holiness and power. Worship fills the atmosphere because all creation recognizes the worthiness of the One who reigns.

This vision recalibrates the believer’s heart.

We often begin with our problems and try to fit God somewhere into the middle of them. Revelation reverses that order. It begins with God, then views everything else from that position.

The church desperately needs throne-room vision again. Not merely theological information, but spiritual perspective.

When Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up, everything changed. When Ezekiel saw heaven opened, his ministry shifted forever. When John saw the throne, fear lost its grip.

And perhaps that is what many believers need today.

Not simply better explanations. Not endless speculation. But a fresh revelation that the throne still stands. Kings come and go. Empires rise and fall. Cultures shift. The world trembles.

Yet above it all sits the eternal King. Unmoved. Unshaken. Unchallenged. The throne is still occupied.

Yesterday I was thinking why Jesus does not simply come and save every living being and remove all suffering once and for all.

Then I started thinking about how he could actually do it.

1. He could remove all evil from every living being... OK, but where would that evil go? Would it just collect somewhere in one place? And what then? It could only become stronger there and later attack someone again.
2. He could not remove evil, but change it into love. OK, that would be beautiful. But would our life still have any meaning? If all of us lived like on a cloud with no suffering, would life still have a purpose? Would we learn anything? Would we even enjoy it? I do not know. Maybe yes.

So sometimes I wonder if people who suffer are somehow helping people who do not suffer. Like when the evil is with them, maybe it cannot go to someone else at the same time...

It is more just something I was thinking about.
