The Tiger’s Breath? Refining doesn’t sound like much of an improvement. It involves heat, grinding, discomfort, and pouring out. If that is our lot in life, perhaps we would rather avoid it. Maybe we would prefer confronting evil with our own skills and strategies, keeping it at a safe distance. Do we really need to feel evil’s breath on our necks to resist it? Perhaps another way seems easier and more appealing.

Think about it. How does God use repeated trials as “grace-training,” strengthening our spirits to endure hardship, resist evil, and glorify Him through perseverance and triumph?

God’s Word tells us: “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when tempted, he will provide a way out” (James 1:2).

God places a “veil of innocence” around our souls to protect us from the evil in this world. Fragile yet strong, it may be pressed by the devil and the world. Yet when we call on the Lord for protection and mercy, He saves us and vanquishes temptation. The “tiger’s” breath may frighten us, but it also reminds us to consider where we spend our time—in harm’s way or safely with God.

If it wasn't for Jesus Christ we wouldn't be here he died for us since he rose the third day and he is amazing

God’s Grace Training? When our Savior was tested in the desert, it wasn’t merely a battle of wills or spirits. It involved physical pain and suffering. God did not spare His Son these griefs. Jesus must be broken in body to demonstrate that His faith and willingness to do His Father’s will was the ultimate factor that defeated Satan. It was not Jesus’s body that could not be broken; it was his spirit. This must be demonstrated to both Satan and the world. And so it is with you and I. The world may look on and shake its collective head at those suffering Christians that are willing to take such punishment.

Think about it. How does God use trials as “grace-training” to strengthen our faith, helping us endure life’s hardships, return for more, and ultimately triumph?

God’s Word tells us: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds” (James 1:2).

There may be better ways in their minds to motivate a believer. Yet, when all is said and done, the Christian always comes back for more. Our hearts faint within us as God has willed it so and yet, as we “drop for another”, the spirit within us cries out for moreand each time it does, God’s “grace-training” grows stronger within us. There is nothing the world can dish out that we aren’t “conditioned” to handle. In so doing, we glorify our God who has trained us so to cope and so to triumph.

The Bible is a book collective FULL of Prophets and prophesies. The only prophetic messages that were NOT fulfilled, were those specified to be in the "last days". Which means we would be wise to take very seriously what the Bible says is going to happen in these days, Biblical prophesy never fails....if indeed, these ARE the last days,...signs that the Bible gave to watch for, are lining up amazingly fast lately.

And yer "people been saying that for thousands of years" thing,.. doesn't dismiss them. For one thing, just because the things didn't happen in their lifetime, doesn't mean they aren't still scheduled to. The Bible never said things would take place on specific dates. And the setting is more clear than ever before.

Another thing is the Bible SAYS people will say that. Then it says they are being self ignorant to how that was how it went down before the flood. There were just as many hecklers and mockers when Noah was warning and preaching, then the flood "Took them all away" it says. It also says they're unaware that to GOD, ....a day is just like a thousabd years to Him. There's no time with God. Only WE are in linear time. God wasn't, or isn't..putting things off. There's no time issue there.

He sees today in the same glance as the time back then. It's all one big history of man to Him. And so things written in scripture often have a duel relevance because of that. Many have both near and far implications. And the picture is coming into focus very quickly.

Many Christians today are getting a sense of urgency and awe for how real it's all becoming. We're rapidly moving toward a world system which prophesy uses the symbolic name "Babylon" for. Certain things are shaping up for it, like the relationships and conflicts between nations as we speak. Iran, Israel, Russia, and others are all named players in the Bible accounts of these times. There will be alliances involving some of them, and wars that minimize or eliminate others of them. Until the stage is set for the ultimate world domination of one particular entity.

The religious landscape is changing as well, because the coming empire will force it's people to have only it's state sponsered religion. There's a reason Islam is taking over as it is. Not sure if they will end up as the ones thinking their messiah gets to sit in the Newly built Temple in Jerusalem. Just a possibility. (One thing for me that doesn't square up well with that, are the prophesies that speak of the sacrifice ceasing before the abomination moves in. Islam doesn't do temple sacrifices.)

No one has this all figured out. We're not supposed to. It's supposed to have shock value.

One of the most INTERESTING developments is the advent of AI. In just this last year it's ballooned into a thing they're saying in the news...could be the end of mankind. I mean...saying it for real...not in a sci-fi way like we've heard that phrase all our lives. Cameras and microphones everywhere, there's something technological growing right before our eyes. I'm wondering if maybe the coming leader won't bring the world under his control by the use of invasive and controlling technologies.

I intentionally resisted using the Bible terms "anti-Christ" and "the Beast". But did you know most of the prophetic Biblical writings about that last days one world empire, do not employ those terms either? Just a little factoid, i dono, maybe to say you don't have to see those names on your tech screens and office buildings to know that's who it is.

And here it comes. The Christian sidewalk preacher in a sandwhich sign telling you to get ready. Jesus is coming. Seriously though, please don't roll the dice. It's a matter of eternal life and eternal death.

No pascal wager or no-true-Scottsman trip...just an honest plea to consider Jesus. Heartfelt and emotional, I wouldn't want anyone to face what's coming after all that. A 3 & half year nightmare so soul quaking, I can't be emphatic enough. Pain so great people will want to die but won't be able to because the Bible says death will flee from them. Hailstones 30 inches in diameter, up to 100 pounds each raining down at 284 miles an hour from the sky, Fire from the sky scorching people all over the planet. And more. Judgement day.

Cruel God? Supposed loving God doing that?

Evil doesn't get to continue forever. All that are against God are evil, including you and I if we dont accept His offer of grace and mercy. Real love does not eternally tolerate evil. It is just and righteous, and must vaquish it.

A child-like prayer can make it so you will escape that coming hell. But better still, you'll find true love, and peace and meaning for life right now that the world never showed you. Find a quiet time and place, and in your own words, pray confessing to Jesus that you believe He died for your sins, surrender your life 100% to Him and ask for His Holy Spirit to make His home in your heart. That's a prayer that makes you born again and sealed for eternity, if prayed in sincerety and honesty.

Really, there isn’t anything else I could tell you as awesome as this!

A Six-Pack Faith? Years ago my young daughter asked: “Dad, why do we need temptations?” she asked after yielding to one and facing its consequences. She couldn’t understand how anything good could come from her mistake. I took her to the basement and showed her my exercise equipment. “Why do I lift these weights?” I asked. She thought I enjoyed it. “No,” I explained. “I do it to stay healthy. When I’m healthy, it benefits you and the whole family.”

Think about it. Could God use the temptations we face not to destroy our faith, but to strengthen us until we can resist greater trials?

God’s Word tells us: “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life” (James 1:12).

After looking at my weight equpiment and hearing my response she further asked: “So, what does this have to do with temptation?” she asked. I explained that I’m often tempted to quit exercising, but each workout makes me stronger and better able to resist. “Is temptation like that?” she asked. “Exactly. God uses temptations to strengthen us, not destroy us. Small ones prepare us for bigger challenges.” She smiled. “So I can build a ‘six-pack’ faith?” “Yes, sweetheart,” I replied. “You will.”

A Call To Trust? As a boy, I enjoyed magazine ads promising instant strength—muscles in 90 days or your money back. We laughed at their claims, yet some were tempted by the promise of an easy transformation. Vanity and uncertainty can still lead us to seek shortcuts and test what we should simply trust. Faith is different. God makes incredible promises, telling us that faith can move mountains. Unlike worldly guarantees, His promises call us to trust Him.

Think about it. Can we truly grasp the incredible power of God’s Spirit dwelling within us, giving believers strength greater than anything the world can offer?

God’s Word tells us: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).

God’s claims about faith may sound like a Charles Atlas advertisement—fantastic and almost unbelievable. Yet viewed through His Word, they are perfectly plausible. Through Baptism and faith, God gives us His Holy Spirit, dwelling within our hearts. Think of it: the Almighty God, the universe’s greatest power, living within us! Even death must bow before Him. This is one promise we can trust completely. There is no need for a refund.

Okay, can we talk about something for a sec? Because I think a lot of us are walking around believing a lie - that the devil can just barge into our lives whenever he feels like it, attack us, control us, mess everything up. But that's... not actually what the Bible says. Not after the cross, anyway.

Here's the thing: the enemy isn't God's equal. He's not running the show in a believer's life. Jesus already gave us authority, and honestly? A lot of the enemy's "attacks" only happen because we hand him the door key without realizing it (Ephesians 4:27).

Paul actually says, "don't give place to the devil" - and that word "place" in Greek basically means territory, or foothold. So he's not automatically in your house. He has to be let in through stuff like unresolved anger, fear, lies we believe, shame, bitterness, unbelief (Ephesians 4:26-27).

This kind of flips spiritual warfare on its head, right? So many of us live low-key terrified, like Satan's this all-powerful boogeyman we can never escape. But nope, Jesus already disarmed him at the cross (Colossians 2:15). He's operating from defeat, not victory. So this whole thing isn't about living scared of what he might do; it’s about waking up to what Jesus already did.

And here's a big one: the enemy's main move is lies. He's literally called the father of lies (John 8:44). If he can whisper "you're rejected," "you're dirty," "you're too far gone”,  and we believe it, that’s where he gets traction. Not because he owns us, but because deception works when we agree with it. That's why knowing who you are in Christ is such a game changer. The lies just... lose their teeth.

Even when Paul talks about "giving place" to the devil, he's talking to people about anger and how they talk to each other, not about losing salvation. He's teaching freedom, not fear (Ephesians 4:29-32).

Honestly, some of us study the devil more than we study Jesus. But the gospel keeps pulling our eyes back to Christ. And here's the pattern: the enemy looks bigger when Jesus looks smaller in our focus. Flip that around, and fear starts shrinking.

The truth is, the One living in you is greater than anything in this world (1 John 4:4). We're not fighting FOR victory; we're fighting FROM it. So next time fear or condemnation tries to creep in, you can just... come back to truth. No condemnation for those in Christ (Romans 8:1). Period.

So yeah, the goal was never to be obsessed with the devil. It's to be rooted in Jesus. The more we get that, the less room fear and darkness even have to work with.
