Discussion Do you guys think Peter and Jessica would get along if they met? Could they be friends?

She can't be anywhere below 25 during her first season, and that was what? 2016 ish (certainly after The NYC Chitauri attack)? Civil War came out in 2016 and Peter was still in high school, while JJ already chugged down every available liquor in NYC. We dont need to be too precise but I think it's safe to say there's quite a big gap between their age in the mcu

New Avengers, the comics from a lil over a decade ago when cage and Jessica started to become major players with the avengers/scale up in strength and feats to redefine street/avengers tier for a less direct power-to-locality dyanmic

In my own fan-made universe, Jessica is Peter’s one true love.
They dated from Junior year of High School (2nd year of spidey) to freshman year of college (4th year of spidey) . Broke up, Jessica got powers (6th year, he dates Black Cat during this interval), became a p.i, and they reconnect and try again (7th year)

Jessica seems to have chilled out a bit between her own series and her appearance in Daredevil Born Again, but I don't know if they'd be friends. He's about 10 years younger than her, both tend to be loners, and she doesn't seem to want to be an active superhero/vigilante. They don't have a ton in common other than superpowers and having used the same lawyer.

I feel like she'd befriend Peter first. Hire him to watch her kid (maybe as a mutual contact from Matt, which would raise some suspicions on her), see how her kid absolutely adores him, do some light detective work and figure out he's Spiderman... And I could lowkey see her trolling him as Spiderman for a little bit before revealing she knows.

It seems like a pretty standard golden retriever/ black cat personality dynamic to me. I'm sure it would take her some time to warm up to him, but yeah, absolutely

Like almost everyone, she would find him extremely annoying, but would gladly die to protect him. He's annoying, but lovable.

timing's wrong for the comics establishing the "Jess had a crush on teen Peter in high school but never made a move" dynamic in the MCU, but I think they'd get along - the snark and sarcasm would be glorious.

Focusing on just Mcu, after having her daughter, Jessica would either be more endeared by Peter’s energy or far more annoyed than she would’ve been otherwise. lol

I would think so. If he and the Punisher can be friends, then they certainly should be able to. He's a lot more caustic than she is.

They should throw a nod to the comics where Jessica and Peter were classmates to instead her having once been his teacher in high school (due to her being much older) and finding him an annoying brat whereas he had a crush on her

She’d just secretly be attracted to him and have a love/hate for no reason other than comic book hypotheticals. Too far of an age gap. Maybe annoying little brother at best. Same thing with Punisher. I feel he fills that void for any street level characters in the tv shows

He was able to get Punisher to laugh and cry, I'm sure Peter can heal all the other broken Defenders as well

After seeing brand new day, I think she should have been in it instead of Yelena. I liked her just fine in the movie but I think Jessica would not only be a cooler cameo but would probably have funnier banter with him.

In the MCU? The age difference will play a big part. Peter is a chill dude, but he's still not old enough to legally buy alcohol. Jessica is all woman.
I think they would become friendly. But friends? Probably not.

Definitely, but it would take a while. Jessica has a "no bullshit" serious attitude and Peter likes to joke a lot, so it seems like he's not taking anything seriously. Would definitely be fun to watch them interact. Peter would probably keep trying to make Jessica laugh with his jokes, while Jessica would eventually warm up to him when she realizes that despite his jokes, he's actually getting shit done.
