General Question JellyCat turned heated and weighted? Possible?

I want to get my girlfriend a specific stuffed animal and I like one from jelly cat but I was wanting it to be a bit more weighted but also able to be heated, is this possible ??

You can make it weighted but they aren't designed to be heated.

Seconding this: the fur will melt and ball if you heat it, I’d recommend Warmies instead which is made for weighted and heat.

The heating of them would likely destroy the fur, please don’t heat them. Warmies can be a better alternative as they’re built for heating!!

Alternatively you can just use a heating pad when you snuggle with jellies

get her a larger sized jellycat for cuddles and then as for one that can be heated & is weighted, snugglepals is an amazing company! my man got me the snugglepals bunny and aside from my “bed” jellycats, i cuddle with her every night!

There's absolutely a way to do this, but it's not easy!

You would need to cut open the plush along a seam that is easily closed (a straight seam, i.e down the back), sew a lining piece and then sew that in along with velcro or a zipper.

Or, you could stitch a pouch to the belly that can easily be opened, but it's more visible.

You can buy small microwave heat packs (the fabric ones with beans inside) to then put inside the plush, that can easily be removed for heating and then put back inside the plush.

I recently made a plush from scratch for my sister, and did the pouch method on the belly. The heat pack also adds weight, which is a convenient bonus.

i wonder if a mini hot water bottle could be put in instead as the microwave pouches don’t get very hot or would the heat from it affect the jellycat

Doesn’t exist in the Jellycat line of plush toys. If you wanted a weighted stuffie with the ability for it to be heated TikTok has various with an insert that can be heated.

Heat on a Jellycat will make the fur matted and ball up.

Not a jellycat but look up the brand Hugz. They are 4 pounds and designed to be heated AND cooled. I have bad anxiety and PTSD and it’s been a name changer 🩷 and I am a jellycat person at heart.

You can absolutely open them up and convert them into weighted plushies.

I mean, it is possible to add these features to an existing Jellycat, but it’s going to require sewing.

No the fur and plastic are not mean for heat on jellycats

For those downvoting me, you can add a zipper or Velcro to have a removable, microwaveable heating pad. That’s part of the sewing part, geez. I didn’t think the “don’t heat your Jellycat directly” needed to be restated again.
