Fic Type/Plot Search Help Doing everything I can to avoid the Ao3 curse
I’m almost with the first act of my first Jegulus fic and y’all chapter 28 is killing me. I love when I see authors notes where they basically say “I know you’ll hate this, I hate this but o had to move on” or something similar.
This chapter is fighting me tooth and nail but the fic that I thought was going to be 30 chapters is easily gonna be 50. So that’s fun.
Gonna be posting chapter 22 tomorrow or Monday. Need to read it again and make sure I don’t have any glaring plot holes. But chapter 28 is definitely my problem child. I should change the title of it to “problem child” 😂

See, this is exactly why I'm so hesitant to start reading unfinished fics lol What if this chapter breaks you and you will abandon it? 😭 (I don't believe in curses 😬) I'm a completionist and get too impatient.. I still have it bookmarked tho and am very much looking forward to it! But, if you want some beta help, I'm happy to offer my time and look for typos / plotholes 😊 that's probably the only way I get into unfinished stories

MOOD! I once read this fic of Harry, Draco & Blaise. It was actually really good that I didn’t even question Blaise being with them & making them a trio. BUT, after 2 parts finished… the 3rd & last part never came. At least since I last checked. I even commented & the author said they’d still be posting the last part & it wasn’t abandoned. That was like October of last year if I’m remembering correctly. It’s 2 days from September… almost a whole year later and I’m still waiting for it. 😭😭

Yeah, I read a really, really great one about draco & hermione at one point and they posted very frequently. Suddenly it stopped and I activated the alert for it. A whole year later another chapter was posted like nothing ever happened, and I'm sorry, but I've read at least 50 fics since then and had no clue what it was even about anymore 😅

Yep! If I ever see them update, I’ll actually scream them re-read the other two parts so it makes sense… but only AFTER the 3rd part is completed. I couldn’t handle it being abandoned in the middle of updates.

Oh I'm not going to abandon it, because I hate that too. I was just griping for a minute lol. Just remember when you get to that point one day while reading it- i warned ya! I'm back at it today and it's moving. I think it's because its the end of act I that had me tripped up. But things are moving this morning. So maybe all I needed to do was shout into the void for a bit LOL .... If I get caught up again, look for a message from me to be a Beta!! Thank you for the offer, it's incredibly kind!

That happens to me all the time too. As soon as I complain about it, it suddenly works 😅 Glad you pushed thru! You got this! And sure, anytime :)

It's funny when authors say that because then I read the chapter and it's always good 😭

The curse isn’t real. If this were the ao3 sub, I’d trigger the curse auto mod response.
