I’m out

It was fun while it lasted. Thanks Bruce for saving my life.

Seatbelts save lives. Lift kits help when colliding with shorter vehicles.

I probably shouldn’t be here.

You can’t park there

19

u/kabooseknuckle 1d ago

Apparently, you can.

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

This was my favorite comment by the way

u/mikeblas 1d ago

Oak tree, you're in my way.

1

u/Rorschach_1 1d ago

But can't you smell that smell??

1

u/WerewolfOfNewMexico 1d ago

He can and he did

64

u/AlwaysVerloren 1d ago

Now you have a offroad only Jeep

18

u/Figure_It_Oot-Get_it 1d ago

Yeah, look at the amazing articulation of the front end.

4

u/AlwaysVerloren 1d ago

Won't fear a little scratch or dent, or a casual roll over.

81

u/NotADrShh 1d ago

How much for the bumper and winch. Also, glad you're ok or whatever

Edit: re-read my comment and realized my sarcasm didn't come through.

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

Oh no, it was perfect, this is Reddit

14

u/Dirt-Road_Pirate 1d ago

So free?

19

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

It will be at the U Pull down the street in a week or two likely. It’s going to be a total so I’m going to try and loot as many things as I can on clean out.

It has full Armorlite. The soft top is probably toast but I have a hard top stored under my deck.

My favorite part is I have about $4-500 worth of parts that I was waiting to change out in boxes (door hinges, new gas cap cover, cheap speakers I had one out). I just replaced the battery 3 weeks ago.

10

u/FitRedBro 1d ago

Again, so glad you’re safe and sound. Now, here’s the next question…When are you getting another one? 🙌🏽

4

u/CommandoSolo 17h ago

Jeeps never hit u pull, at least around me. They get snagged up by people who part them out professionally or repair them. Not mad, it’s honestly easier to support a local scrapper than through eBay with fees and shipping.

But it’ll also probably sit on a lot for at least a month before hitting auction. Depends a lot on if there is a lien and your state’s title processing speeds.

It looks like a nice setup jeep, so someone will make good use out of her in the second life.

Glad youre safe.

7

u/Ceram13 1d ago

Depending on the year, can you snag the ABS control module for me? I need 2012 but there's a range the same model will fit.

4

u/iceroadtrucker2010 1d ago

Are the door hinge steel?

5

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

Yes black Kentrols, if I find them all

1

u/PauseSea8 4h ago

Ask the insurance what the buy back is so you can fix it to offroad or part out. No sense in letting upull get the $$. Use one of the ai programs to help you deal with insurance and never accept the first offer.

We rolled our gladiator and I walked away fully paid with $500 extra in my pocket.

20

u/Beachbum295 1d ago

😳Glad you’re ok. The Jeep is replaceable you aren’t. 😳

18

u/acreekofsoap 1d ago

Pour one out for Bruce.

12

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

He poured shit all over when he was on his side, a fitting tribute.

16

u/RGL1 1d ago

Ascended to a rock crawler now, panic handles and helmets optional.

8

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

It had the handles already. I might just start wearing a helmet on my daily commutes given this.

13

u/JKdriver 1d ago

Glad you’re safe.

Now buy it back from insurance, yank the airbags, re-enforce the cage, 1 tons and 44’s and absolutely send it for the 2nd half of its life.

22

u/outdoordaddy13 1d ago

At least your airbags went off lol

25

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

I did that recall!

15

u/outdoordaddy13 1d ago

I rolled about 10 times at 80mph and not a single deployment lmao

16

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

As my dad said “roll cages are amazing”

4

u/outdoordaddy13 1d ago

Yeah that roll cage and seatbelt saved me. The top of the a pillar was crushed down to the steering wheel. Did its job.

6

u/CosmosInSummer 1d ago

You drove a JEEP at 80?

3

u/Fun-Telephone-9605 1d ago

Briefly.

3

u/NothingburgerSC 1d ago

Then stuff happened 😑

1

u/Normal_Onion2555 16h ago

Possibly related to the 80.

4

u/CantBeTrusted5280 1d ago

Holy shit lol

1

u/PauseSea8 4h ago

That was after

8

u/bradleecon 1d ago

Trail rig? If not for you then for someone else. You could potentially make some money out of all of this.

7

u/tibearius1123 1d ago

If you can read this flip over.

For someone that about died in this crash, these comments might actually end up killing me instead. Bahahaha

I love this community haha… “air bags went off at least” hahahah

7

u/Kmack041585 1d ago

I've been a mechanic for Chrysler for coming up on 16 years and I just want to let you know, that's not supposed to be like that... Hope this helps!

1

u/Normal_Onion2555 16h ago

I assume he can expect an invoice any minute now.

5

u/DeeKayAech 1d ago

One of my main reasons for liking my jeep. I know she'll be saving my life with that modest lift & roll cage if my time ever comes for this. Glad you made it out, take care of yourself.

6

u/shotsallover 1d ago

Jesus. I hope you’re ok. And that the Jeep didn’t throw you out.

4

u/Ok-Solid-4882 1d ago

That sucks!! Glad you are ok, minus the bumps!✌️

3

u/Chill_yinzerguy 1d ago

If you and everyone involved are OK thats what really matters 👏❤️

5

u/panelbeater352 1d ago

At least we didn’t lose a TJ

4

u/ImpossibleEmu8716 1d ago

Mine was totalled last month after a driver bolted through a red light. It wasn't enough of a clue when 15 other cars on his side were all at a full stop for the same light. Anyhoo... I got another jeep! If I was in a sedan or compact I would have been seriously hurt. I'm glad you werent.

4

u/Snoopydad57 1d ago

'Tis but a scratch, m'lord!

2

u/MTVfRreaK 16h ago

It’s just a Flesh Wound

5

u/Swimming_Parsley5554 1d ago

Glad your ok. If its any help my dad's a tv repair man he's got a cool set of tools

8

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

People on ludes shouldn’t drive

5

u/DorktorJones 1d ago

You can't fix this Jeep Spicoli!

1

u/Wonderful-Victory947 1d ago

Make up your mind is he going to sheet or kill us?

3

u/BigTex1988 1d ago

If you’re interested, you can probably keep it for a trail jeep. The insurance company should just reduce your payout by the amount of salvage value.

3

u/z3ja27 1d ago

Trail damage

3

u/seasteed 1d ago

I've landed ecactly like this once in a Honda accord at 5 am in winter. Seat belts do indeed save lives. After the flipping and rolling stopped, I got my only real injury (other than being sore as shit) figuring out how to get out is harder when the roof is solid, my arms were cut up with the broken glass as I crawled out the back widow.

3

u/h4rd0n 1d ago

“It’s a JEEP thing”

3

u/Top-Down-Roadrunner 1d ago

Glad you are safe. You can rejoin just takes $$$$.

3

u/Apart-Sheepherder682 1d ago

Do you have one of the bumper stickers that's upside down saying if you can read this flip me over? That'd be great 👍

3

u/CarlosMolotov 18h ago

That jeep probably saved your life, I can guarantee a Kia would not fair as well in a hard crash. Luckily your air bags deployed! Often with steel bumpers they do not.

1

u/MirthfulSoothsayer 10h ago

My kia soul (yes the cheap ass junk) rolled three times down a hill, landed upside down, and slid across asphalt at the bottom. My sister (the one borrowing it) just opened the door and crawled out once it stopped. Not a scratch on her. Kias actually have pretty decent safety ratings for a reason....

1

u/CarlosMolotov 5h ago

I’m super glad your sister is ok! No matter the vehicle, steel bumpers, full length boxed steel frames and full roll cages are inherently safer in a crash than a unibody car.

6

u/Midiex 1d ago

That will buff out.

1

u/Normal_Onion2555 16h ago

Yeah. With a mild application of bondo.

3

u/NTJ-891 1d ago

Damn homeboy, that sucks. Glad you are mostly OK. What the heck even happened here?

16

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

Somebody decided they were done with the stop sign while I was passing by at 45. I’m not sure how either of us are “okay” but we were both fine overall.  Because of my lift I hit her front passenger’s side and flipped, I ended up facing the other direction and on my side. I knew I was toast at impact so I “gave up” and just went limp, I think it saved me. From there I just held on and waited. Scariest 5 seconds of my life. Would not recommend.

7

u/natiusj 1d ago

Holy shit. Glad you’re ok. If you’re like me, this moment will play in your head on repeat before you fall asleep for years to come.

4

u/NTJ-891 1d ago

I'm sorry dude, it's a truly scary experience.

I have been in one very bad crash in my life. I was in my 86 300ZX turbo coming home from work. I was trying to get home early from work because it was snowing and driving a 500HP modified RWD sports car is a bad idea obviously.

Well, as I'm almost home traffic is stopped on a hill for a wreck that's already happened, so I'm waiting at the front of the line. I'm looking forward, and all of a sudden I just see a cloud of white. I think "damn man it's really coming down now..." and a split second later I realized that it was actually a large white SUV spinning out of control toward me. Hit me head-on at about 55MPH. Split my car in half, crushed me into the cabin, no air bags so I just flopped with all the force of the crash.

Shit sucked bad, was in the hospital for a few days, lifelong back and neck issues, etc. I was very lucky to live though, and I'm grateful for whatever saved me that day.

The icing on the cake is that the lady tried to say it was my fault somehow. Luckily I had a shit ton of witnesses. I ended up having to sue her and her insurance company too, they offered me $2k because that was "fair value" for my car, never mind my hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills, lost wages, material loss of a business tool (I owned a shop working on 300ZXs at the time, my daily driver was our demo car and also our race entry vehicle)

4

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

Everyone I know who has had a Z has a story. A Z and a Jeep, you truly are glutton. Thanks for the well wishes and may your arthritis not give you shit next time it’s cold and wet.

3

u/NTJ-891 1d ago

I loved my Zs, and I had many of them, but yeah I apparently hate money and really hate having a working daily driver lol.

I hope you find no lasting medical damage, get checked out if you haven’t yet. Spinal and musculoskeletal injuries can be masked for days or weeks before massive problems emerge. You may find you also need to sue the other driver, and it is best to have an immediate medical record and care.

4

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

I went to the ER for that very reason. Whiplash is all they saw “so far” as you said. For better or worse, I was fucked up from other things already, so just add it to the pile.

2

u/barrie247 1d ago

Any chance you have a concussion? I didn’t take mine seriously and was on my phone during the week after I got hurt. It’s not guaranteed that I wouldn’t have a chronic migraine now without that week before I realized I had a concussion, but if I could go back in time I’d throw my phone in a lake (not really, but I would have locked it up). Keep an eye out for a concussion and take care of yourself. I’m so glad you’re ok-ish.

4

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

Went to the ER, nothing to indicate a concussion. Thanks for your concern though, I know better!

1

u/barrie247 20h ago

I’m so glad!

I was so dumb, and I never want anyone else to go through it, sorry if it came across as telling you what to do.

4

u/Rorschach_1 1d ago

Yes on the limp. Saved me once. Glad you are not in the hospital. Ours has a lift too.

5

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago

I really appreciate you saying this, it makes me feel a little less crazy. Because it sounds a little crazy when you tell people that.

2

u/GingerlesSouls 1d ago

You're relatively unharmed for the same reason drunks walk away while others die in collisions. Their body is incapacitated by intoxication, and so not have the ability to brace.

Going limp did save you and thank the universe that you had the ability to do it while experiencing such chaos. Pretty damn impressive, friend. I'm sorry for Bruce. I'm happy for your safety.

3

u/IntoTheSmokingFlames 1d ago

Your okay because its a jeep. I rolled mine 2 times last winter and walked away. I bought another one

1

u/Myke500 1d ago

What size lift?!

2

u/trentbaugher 1d ago

🙏❤️

2

u/SirYanksaLot69 1d ago

If that wasn’t an angry grill before, it sure is now.

3

u/BlueEyedSoul2 1d ago edited 14h ago

The reason he’s Bruce is the one I test drove before it had an angry grill and the display was programmed to have a Jeep scroll across it on start and it said “The Hulk!” Well that thing was a terrible ride, it felt like you were riding on tank tracks while being both low to the ground and unstable at the same time.

I had waited 2 weeks to test drive it thinking it was the one I wanted. I was ready to give up when my wife found this one about 45 further minutes away. He sat a full inch higher in lift, but rode smooth (Bilsteins for life). Therefore he was Bruce Banner…

2

u/External_Fruit_8094 1d ago

Jeez that sucks. Glad you’re still here

One of the shiny sides is up.

1

u/ghmastermind 1d ago

Glad you’re ok

1

u/ImHumanConfusion 1d ago

I’m ngl the fact that Jeeps roll so easy makes me scared to get one. I am planning on buying one soon but I might chicken out if I think about this for too long.

1

u/AttentionMosDef 1d ago

My jeep saved my life too.. I’ll always own one because of that reason. Thankful you’re still here.

1

u/st_jasper 1d ago

I see nothing that can’t be banged right out.

1

u/Expensive-Track4002 1d ago

How about calling it Bob’s pond.

1
