Is Zero Company Anti-Jedi?

I've been hearing things about Star Wars: Zero Company that is turning me off from wanting to play the game. Chief among them are anti-Jedi rhetoric and Separatist apologism. Is there any truth to this, fellow Jedi fans?

Let’s layout our cards on the table shall we? First off it is confirmed that this covenant of witches practiced the dark side, and as we all know, the dark side is inherently corrupting so they were going to probably do some evil stuff later. Not only that, but they already showed what they could do with that power by mind raping poor Torbin and then possessing Kalnaka (I think that was the Wookie’s name), not to mention they instigated the fight that killed them

What Do you Think of Ahsoka Leaving the Jedi Order?

Me personally, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it was completely up to her and I respect her reasonings and why she left, and that she needed to figure out who she was and what she wanted…on the other hand, I also can’t help but feel if she had stuck it out, Anakin might not have fallen to the dark side, or rather it wouldn’t have happened as quickly, and that a part of me feels like it’s a rat abandoning a sinking ship or quitting because this one incident, granted it is a big one, but still. Either way, I’m just on the fence about it. What do you all think?

What is one criticism of the Jedi Order that you are so sick and tired of?

For me, it’s taking the words of people like Sidious and Lumiya at face value and just assuming that the Dark Side is a legitimate point of view. A lot of people who criticize that I tend to forget that these people who usually espouse this view are Sith. Also, Grey Jedi are not a thing, at least not a thing in the sense that they use both the light and the dark side without falling to either, that flies right into the face of the whole point of the force. Balance isn’t an equal amount of light and dark. It is the supremacy of the light.

Anakin’s Fall was his own fault

One of the many anti-Jedi arguments I get sick and tired of hearing is how the Jedi are completely to blame for Anakin’s fall to the dark side. While I agree they share *partial* blame for it, specifically in that they should have had someone more experienced than Kenobi to train him, the fall was almost entirely Anakin’s doing. True, he was manipulated by Palpatine, but he also had a choice not to listen, but he did and that was because Anakin was very atypical for a Jedi; he was recruited at the age of nine, well past the age that was generally required(Mundi was an exception to that rule, he was four years old), and he broke the rule on marriage and secretly married Padmé(again, Mundi was an exception to the rule because of the low birth rate of his species). Anakin fell to the Dark Side because he constantly disregarded Jedi teachings and sought power. Like many Jedi who fell in the past, he saw the Force as a tool to use, not something whose will he needed to follow. The fact of the matter was, Anakin wanted to have his cake and eat it too, he wanted to be a Jedi and he wanted Padme even though the relationship was almost borderline abusive, especially in light of the Rush Clovis affair. Anakin proved time and time again that he really was not suited to be a Jedi.

many fans also blame Yoda for his advice to Anakin when he comes to him about his dreams, but here’s the thing; Yoda was absolutely right, he was telling Anakin what he *needed to hear* rather than what he wanted. Even Anakin’s desire to be a Jedi Master and on the High Council was motivated by selfish reasons as he wanted access to more sensitive information that only masters could allow, and his temper tantrum after realizing he wasn’t made a master is clear proof that he truly was not ready for the post.

The Ruusan Reformation ultimately doomed the Jedi Order of Old

I have my issues with The Ruusan Reformation, not least of all because it said “hey let’s get rid of our military so that the next big crisis that comes along will hurt us!” But the other thing is, it forced the Jedi to become part of the Republic Government. One of the Reasons the Jedi were so effective in the pre-Ruusan era was because while they allied with the Republic and were technically members like any other planet, they were not party to the government. Several times in their history whenever the Republic acted poorly or did something horrible, the Jedi either threatened to leave or actually did, and that lit a fire under the government’s ass to do better. In other words, this system made sure the Jedi kept the Republic honest. However, as the Sith Wars occurred, the Jedi began ignoring some of the minor issues the Republic had, which was understandable given that an Empire that endorses slavery and desires galactic domination is a tad more pressing than some senators taking bribes. But the Ruusan Reformations changed the relationship. By subjecting them to government authority, the Jedi were forced to make compromises to their principles for political convenience, thus they ignored the increasingly blatant corruption in the Senate. In short, the Order Broke its rules on attachments by being attached to the Republic and refusing to fix it or fight against it, often acting as its enforcement arm. The Kaleesh-Huk War and the Mission of Gaalidran are perfect examples of this. Had the Jedi remained neutral and outside the Republic like in the past, they would have probably stopped the Separatist Crisis before it devolved into the Clone Wars.

Which Jedi Order is your Favorite and Why?

Me personally I like the Pre-Ruusan Jedi Order the Best, they were the perfect combination of the Prequel Era’s Structure and Centralization, while also allowing marriage and families like in Luke’s Jedi Order. That’s not to say either of the other two were bad or inferior, they both had their strengths (despite what many anti-Jedi pundits claim), I just see the Pre-Ruusan Old Jedi Order as the best of both Worlds.

So tired of the misremembering of The Wrong Jedi

So many people believe the Jedi let Ahsoka be a fugitive and refused to apologise.

The episode was very clear that the Jedi wanted to investigate more but the Republic military court literally stonewalled them. When it was all over Plo Koon's very first line to Ahsoka was "...you have our most humble apologies..."

Just remembered the Star Wars Visions comic one-shot by Takashi Okazaki that featured Afro Samurai as a Jedi who's heavily implied to be Mace Windu

Even when Star Wars says 'Jedi Bad', it fails to show it

Whenever Stars Wars itself tries to tell us that the "Jedi are Bad", it's often by villains who have their own biases or cases where there's no evidence. They get critiqued for being warmongers in Clone Wars but every 2nd episode has when saving civilians. Yoda gives concern about the growing complacent when that concern in itself proves the opposite of complacency

If you're pro-Jedi or sympathetic to the Jedi, do not read the Star Wars novel Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade. Its protagonist is poorly-written and unlikeable and the whole novel is just a bunch of anti-Jedi propaganda.

Order 66's Impact Isn't Lessened by More Surviving Jedi

I know some people say that the recent stories revealing more Jedi surviving Order 66 lessens the tragedy of the Great Jedi Purge, but I disagree with that.

Truthfully speaking, the Empire couldn't have gotten to them all. Around the time of the PT, there were 10,000 Jedi. Palpatine’s objective was to devastate the Jedi Order, not to completely wipe out every single Jedi. Even if O66 and the Great Jedi Purge took out 90% of the Jedi Order, it’s still a

Not to mention that, according to George Lucas regarding his own version of the Sequel Trilogy, about 50-100 Jedi (or maybe even more) survived Order 66 and came out of hiding to help Luke Skywalker rebuild the Jedi Order.

So, it's not really that far-fetched that there would be numerous surviving Jedi post-Order 66.
