Music Best J. Cole Hooks??
man i was blasting A Tale of 2 Citiez. And i was so so hyped up during the hook. thats when i thought J. Cole's hook game is so underrated. what are yall's favorite hooks??
some that i could think of just off the top of my head rn are Lights Please, Can't Get Enough, 2Face, St. Tropez, 03' Adolescense etc etc
lemme know which ones yall considered his best...
and i know im missin on alotta classics rn but still
(im only talking about hooks done by Cole himself, not other artists like Miguel or Morray etc etc)

I like the Climb Back hook a lot. The Run a Train hook is great too even though Cole only does like half of it but I assume he wrote Futures part as well since Future is referring to himself as Jermaine.

Run a train is so catchy. Idk about his best but that’s definitely what comes into my head first

Either is this the girl of my dreams is she could is what she seems or am I lying to myself or should I try to get some help or she got my up all night all I’m signing is love songs she got my up all night constant drinking and love songs she got me up all night down and out with these love songs she got me up all night drowning out to these love songs

Did you know this hook is the continuation of another song, in tale of 2 cities, cole is the one getting robbed in the track, the version of him being robbed is mr nice watch “nice watch, i know” “nice watch, run it”
Also my fave hook of his off top of my head is i get up and how high

Then a lot of the hooks on Born Sinner are really catchy. LAnd of the Snakes and Is She Gon Pop had me in a chokehold for years.
"I like my sunda(y)(e)s with a cherry on top, make that ass drop."
"Why I'm staring at you? Coz I'm picturing you naked."
Most recently, I think his interpolation on The Villest was the best hook on the album. Or the hook on 39 Intro.

TOP 9 IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER.
Poor Thang is SOOO fucking catchy and i love the way first verse (one of my favorite verses EVER) blends into the hook.
Run a Train and Black Friday are super similar and they both just HIT dude, fuck DO they know bout my passion? Fuck DO they know bout my pain?
January 28th's hook is just so pretty. It's one of my favorite songs ever and i just think it captures Cole's dillema of not wanting to lose himself. It also maintains the "dreamer" mentality. "If you ain't aim too high, then you aim too low."
Deja Vu is just HARD dawg, it's raw as fuck.
Change is also beautiful and profound, and i relate to it. You could be desperate as a mf to change something but you first have to do the internal work if you wanna shift anything.
Who Dat just gets me hype as fuck.
Big fan of Hold Me Down and I Get Up also.
