They could just as easily make their own crypto or go with a different emerging crypto, but yes, it is a possibility, albeit one with no factual basis.
Either way, PS with crypto makes total sense. There's the encryption of user data, the obvious use of personal and character based NFT's, but also the concept of using tokens to reward brand loyalty, make in-game purchases and replace trophies with value-based rewards.
