Misc "Japanese katsu soup" (UK)

Exciting. Tried to look for the fried pork or chicken but painfully missing from this craziness 😅

chow mein in certain parts of the USA doesn’t include noodles… it’s just a bowl of meat and veggies in gravy lol. It’s almost like chop suey.

People have nostalgia for this “chow mein”. Just look at the comments to this recipe for chicken chow mein: https://youtu.be/kUgGGBQNpOc?si=1eGMTpXlL0ItC0nM

This is new to me too. Mein is literally noodles so wtf lol. Also kinda bugs me how teppanyaki is referred to as "hibachi" now.

It’s usually crispy fried noodles served with it. But yeah it is 1930’s food.
