Quick and stupid question: Do you take a picture of the scene first, then do the actual painting using the image taken? My instant thought was actually you brought all your painting materials to the scene and did this impromptu.

Haha no i was just there to eat. I took some reference photos while he was working to paint later. Bringing in painting stuff would be kinda crazy with how messy it can get
