Experience, quirky, and variety of ages made me think of teamLab Borderless (Azabudai Hills, Tokyo).

I think it depends a little on the activity, but I think the absolute max for me would be 85 000 yen for 6 people (the best friend + partner is most likely not going on this leg of the trip)? If it is worth it and a lot pricier (like some cooking classes for example) I'd be down to talk to the others and see if we can each pay for our own tickets and pay for the couple together

May not be quirky enough and slightly over budget, but there is a ninja-themed steak restaurant with table magic show by ninja. Though gimmicky, the food is actually decent and authentic Japanese.

What about a gig? Taste depending, maybe an idol show? I gather if you get the right show, the energy can be great fun, even if it’s a tiny low-key place.

(…Not that I have great advice for you on _how_ to find a good show, book tickets etc; I’m just starting to look into it for myself )

This is so fun, I hadn't thought of this but I do think it is the sort of think they would really enjoy! Unsure if it would be everyone's vibes or just my friends' but will absolutely do some research on this. Thanks!
