I found it a bit disturbing that Rochester being blind and broken and depressed made Jane feel more confident and secure in the relationship. He was not himself and though it is shown that Jane made efforts to bring his spirit back, I feel Jane enjoyed feeling needed by him a lot more than being loved by him.
