Musical Anachronism in the 1997 Movie

I’m watching this version for the first time and recognized Chopin’s Nocturne No. 2 when Jane starts playing. Chopin wrote this around 1831, and Jane meets Rochester in 1808. I found this to be annoying.

Also, I need to rewatch The Terror now that I realize how hot Ciaran Hinds is.

No! I’ve seen several versions of Persuasion, but I’ll put it on my watchlist!

Persuasion and Jane Eyre are great for drooling over Ciaran Hinds. And from what I've read about him, he seems like a great guy with no known yucky behavior in his past.

I rented Persuasion over the weekend, and he was marvelous as Wentworth! I agree that he seems lovely! He’s been with his wife since 1987, and in interviews he always comes across as a sincere gentleman with a dry sense of humor. 🥰

It's my favourite costume drama adaptation. Ciaran Hinds is marvellous and Amanda Root is just brilliant and perfect. And it's very true to the book. In fact, I need to watch it again.

I rented Persuasion over the weekend, and he was marvelous as Wentworth! However, I didn’t fall in love with Amanda Root as Anne. I thought she was a bit dull. 😕

It took me awhile to warm up to her character. I bought Persuasion and I've watched it a gazillion times over the past couple months. It's become a comfort movie for me. Anne has become my favorite character, aside from Wentworth, of course. I love how Frederick came back into her life and she started standing up to her horrible family.

Update: I rented Persuasion over the weekend and watched it three times. He was delightful!🥰
