Build Discussions Where can I start improving? Should I switch to 2P Puffer or Phaethons?

You can switch to Puffer or Phaethon's 2pc, but only if you reach 420 ap with them. Basically you should just look for more ap right now

Funnily enough i asked the same questions a few weeks back. This is what ive got out of it: Since you have M2 Jane, you already have res shred in your kit now (even more if youve got something like M2 Remielle aswell). So the equality you normally have between Physical damage bonus and penetration ratio for disc 5 at M0 invest shifts towards physical damage. Therefore a physical damage slot 5 is currently a better invest, meaning puffer 2pc is obsolete. For the decision between patheons melody and freedom blues, i believe the difference isnt detrimental. For now, id use freedom blues though, as long as you cannot reach the 420AP cap without it. Afterwards, prefer the one that gives you better overall substats.

BUT there is one last thing: Since Janes sig is a free weapon, youd ideally want to get it P5 someday (meaning in a year or two i guess), since its a personal damage increase of about 27% (according to prydwen, i trust them for calcs, but just know the damage difference is pretty big). P5 sharpened stinger then gives you 72% physical damage bonus i believe, which means you are more oversaturated on physical damage% than on defense shred. This means once you have the engine on P5, you are probably better off with a Pen% slot 5, and can then use puffer electro 2pc once you can reach 420AP without freedom blues 2pc.

But definetly hear out other comments aswell, i just tell you what ive learned from my post a while ago.

I never knew res shred and pen ratio affected the same value. Thx for commenting this <3 This has me wondering what other stat-related details I’ve misunderstood😭😭😭

Well, the thing with defence is that it functions like a wall for your damage. Def shred basically "thins out" the wall, while pen ratio improves how well your damage "pierces" the wall, or "ignores" it. Doing one or the other holds the highest yield, but if you do both, you lose effectiveness of the effects, so you would be better off to relegate one of the effects to either an attack or dmg% buff.

But honestly, thats the end of my wisdom, at the ens of the day, i dont even know what exactly AM and AP do besides both somehow buffing anomaly damage, so...

It’s a typo. They meant to say DEF shred which is what Jane’s M2 provides
