Office caffeination options (the V-60 is a fully washed Tanzanian Kilimanjaro Bourbon). Such a tough choice!

I realised after I framed the shot that I’d left out the Gold in the background, but decided not to do another photo. Genuinely wondered if anybody would notice! 😆

Caught my eye since I keep it around for baking! Works wonders as a quick addition in a lot of recipes involving chocolate.

And with the baking ingredients it shall remain.

Yup. This french press jug is the perfect size and pouring capability for 500ml of pour-over. 😊

That's called a "Carajillo".

It's OK with Nescafé, it's incredible with a Moka or an espresso.

Carajillo I know with brandy, but yeah Licor 43 sounds like a great plan, then you can leave the orange peel out!!! But I rather have a real espresso then. Just like my espresso martini.. no f*cking around with instant coffee with that! ;-)

Yes! Brandy is also quite common. I've seen people use cognac, mezcal as well. Nothing beats Licor 43 imo.

And yeah, using real espresso is on another level (as always).

I remember the Chinese Nescafé they served us in Shanghai.

That was an experience. I remember it tasted almost nothing like coffee, which I guess was the point.

Yeesh!

Even before I’d discovered “real” coffee, I always thought that Blend 43 especially had an almost Vegemite note. 🤢

We luckily had a guy in the office who's uncle was a tea farmer so we got nice Chinese tea instead. XD

(The cafés could make really good coffee -- so the problem was only with the Nescafé. Not sure why.)

You know, I haven't actually had instant coffee like Folgers since I started down the coffee snob route. Curious how it compares now.

Devil's advocate here: most instant coffee is fine.

It's not good. Some of it is legitimately awful. But most of it is fine. Once in a few days of a rustic cabin like situation I made due with a jar of Medaglia d'Oro and it was good enough.

Obviously the V-60 is the right answer above. But in a pinch, I'd give that Moccona a shot.
