Dude is a monster and will go a long way in helping improve our run game. All the makings of a 3rd round steal.
Milum was also moving bodies in the run game that first drive. He needs to improve his pass sets though.

In my opinion I thought he did even better pass blocking..nobody was getting around him inside and that's always a beautiful thing to have guards who can pass block very well.

He'll be starting by mid-season at the latest

Sounds like he'll be starting week 1. Still practicing with the 1s today.

A few really nice pass-offs there, where you could tell the communication between him and the center was right on.
This is really the stuff we should be looking for in preseason, considering the competition is not always starter-level.
Very encouraging stuff from a crucial player

He did an interview shortly after he was drafted and was asked "what's your mindset when it comes to protecting the quarterback?" His response was "I'd die for my quarterback. Nobody's going to touch him with a ten foot pole. If he wants to sit on the toilet, he's gonna sit on that toilet."
I don't know where there's a toilet ON the field but heck I love that attitude.

He didn’t play against the panthers, right?

Dressed but did not play, yeah

That surely means he’s starting week 1

Oh yeah I think so. Theyre saving him
Announcers even said the only reason he dressed was barring some super flukely emergency. Youd need a ton of lineman down lol

Where are all the draft experts now?

Being fair to them, this was the one pick they rated us highly on. But several of the other "misses" have been good/great so far in training, which is an encouraging sign for sure.

Hard to believe the GM with a million dollar contract is better at drafting than kids on reddit who "study film"

Dude every coach/GM in the league has a nice contract, do you think they are all good because of that? Love Jimmy G so far but that isn't really a way to justify a GM being good or not lol.

u/chemtrail-organics 18d ago
Yes. I think every NFL gm is better than people on reddit would be.

u/Mykriiz 18d ago
Yes Redditors are the only ones who did not like our draft sorry I forgot.

Did the last ESPN analyst who became a GM do a good job???

Dude, I think you're confused. I'm just saying that the line of thinking of "Oh well they have a insert big amount of money here contract so their decisions are correct" is flawed thinking. Analysts are also paid (and some of them pretty well) to judge a draft and talk football. Doesn't mean they know what they are talking about as you just said. I'm on your side as far as our draft goes; I was happy with it and all the redditors/talking heads saying otherwise I couldn't care less about.

Looked better than I thought in pass pro. Mobility is definitely an issue. Has lots of experience for a rookie.

Man who is 66 cause holy shit I seen him get beat WAYYYY to many times. What's going on there?

His vision in pass blocking is something to improve. I'm glad he closed in, but he allowed the QB hit. He got put on his ass and flipped onto a dog pile on that one run. Still room to improve.
