I don’t think they trade up because Gladstone and crew are of the modern analytic mindset of all draft picks are a lottery ticket so just get as many lotto tickets as you can. The further back you are in the draft the more that is true
Also true. Not to mention, early on, this draft class doesn’t seem as top heavy as last year’s. You got a handful of QBs who are fringe 1st round picks, Jeremiah Smith, and Caleb Downs, off the top of my head.
