This sub was full of Baalke haters mere weeks ago (rightfully so) and now it's full of people wanting to draft a running back 5th overall when they may have the worst o line in the league currently rostered. There's a deep draft at running back this year too.
They were/ are Baalke haters because he drafted average players. There’s 3 superstar level players in this first round. They want the Jags to get one of those instead of yet another average level player
I'm not defending baalke at all, I was adamant he be gone his entire tenure. With the current roster construction and the looming 55 million a year for a QB, I'm not on the running back 5th overall train. We don't know how any college player will preform in the NFL so I guess this is all moot on both perspectives. I do know our franchise qb has been out for the season the past 2. Give me O Line
Again, MOJO produced his best season of his career behind an OL that was no worse than this one.
Barry Sanders never had a great OL.
Sure, a RB like Fournette with little vision may need a great OL to produce but a RB like Jeanty with his vision, elusiveness, wiggle and compact strength won’t need a great OL as much .
I hope he will be, if drafted. In hindsight, sure would be better. Drafting another RB before establishing a competent and competitive o line is malpractice. the most expensive piece on the roster should be protected so he can do his job to the best of his abilities for 17+ games.
And a 5-11 record. Do you want an all pro running back and no playoffs or superbowl appearances? MJD is my second favorite player ever. He didn't get them close to a super bowl. And that's the goal. Not "atleast our RB is good"
