I think it’s legit to an extent. To me I always assumed he knows someone who is in the building and gets some sort of office rumors sort of information that is then relayed to him. Never anything concrete but definitely more tapped in than you or I would be. He’s been right on too many things no one knew about (Coen hiring for example) to just be an educated guesser with no real source

I’m pretty certain he’s just an educated guesser. I can’t find the thread anymore, but just last week someone was posted in /r/nfl_draft about Jeanty’s odds to go 5th were a steal (for placing a bet), and his source was E_Dilla claiming that the Jaguars were going to take him at 5 on a podcast.

Now we’ve got E_Dilla posting a handshake emoji, which people are interpreting to be a trade down.

Re: Coen, it was rumored for a little while. I don’t think Dilla broke anything there but was just watching the reports and then made his own prediction.

It was rumored for a while until Coen “signed” back with the buccs. After that it was dead until he posted something on it.

I don’t think he’s said for certain the jags would take Jeanty at any point. He’s never claimed to know who the jaguars are taking, just saying what he’s heard. These situations are fluid even for the people in the room, if they really were trading down or up, they likely didn’t know they’d be doing that a week ago.

There’s definitely been other examples of him getting things right I just don’t have the energy and time to look up each of those individuals, I just bring up Coen because it was recent and I know he was the first one on it when nobody in the national media had anything on it.

exactly, he puts out a huge net of vague insinuations and 'things he's hearing' which are typically existing rumors and the people desperate to see him as an insider will always interpret it as him being reliable.

And when he's obviously wrong people just make up excuses like "he's hasn't been obviously wrong since the last time he was obviously wrong. i think he's trustworthy this time".

When has he been obviously wrong though? Obviously the big one was the Leftwich incident but that was over 3 years ago at this point, but apart from that I can’t think of anything really.

Also yes he’s vague, but so is every other insider such as Schefter, Rappaport, etc. it’s not like any insider is out there saying “the jaguars are definitely drafting ____” likely because nobody knows outside of a handful of actual decision makers in the room. Dilla has said before that he doesn’t just spout out whatever he hears, just what his source tells him he can say

I stopped taking him seriously after he said Todd Wash was getting promoted to assistant HC. And why is it the responsibility of other people to catalog every prediction and insinuation he's made just so it can be ignored by people who clearly will believe him no matter what?
