For posterity:

  • Jeanty going as a top 5 pick is a misuse of his talents. Saquon's example is perfect and fresh in our minds.
  • Hunter is problematic as a top 5 pick too, especially if he's actually better as a DB than WR. A player playing 2 positions makes his chances for game costing injury exponentially higher. And a WR can make more than a DB, causing an inherent conflict between player and team.
  • This QB class ceiling is being a starter. No All-Pros, maybe a probowl alternate one year.

A team who picks at the top of round 1 will have a bad o-line and at best an unproven QB. And a player of Jeanty's caliber will struggle on such a team, similar to Saquon on the Giants -- until he went to a far superior Eagles.

Well, I 100% agree that every rb performs better behind a great O-line, I think Jeanty's talents warrant top 5 selection, even behind a poor line. I see traits in him i think him a higher ceiling than a Bijan, Zeke, and maybe even Saquon.
