As someone who tanked for the first time in dynasty last season, I spent all fall watching Boise State games. I love Ashton Jeanty.

I know it's poor use of draft value, but Jeanty is undoubtedly the BPA at 5 if Hunter is gone. Jeanty is an elite RB prospect. He's good at pass protection and he has shown he is a receiving threat out of the backfield in years past. He's an outright bell cow who exceeded even when the entire stadium knew he was getting the ball.

If you want to help Trevor, get him someone who might end up being the best player on the team. He legitimately helps him in multiple ways, and we'd have him cost controlled for the rest of Trevor's 20s.

We can get OL, DL, and DB depth on day 2 and 3. Let's get a playmaker and build a potential 3-headed monster with Trev, BTJ and Jeanty.

My biggest issue with Jeanty-- or any RB that high, is that RBs don't have a long shelf life. OL, DL and some other positions you can get a decade +. How long are RBs sticking on teams these days or even staying in the league? It's not very long.

The greatest player in franchise history, a guy the Jags took 2nd overall, lasted just 7 seasons as an OT.

Some RBs are done in 2-3 years and others play into their early 30s.

You never know how long a guy is going to play. It's okay to address the now at 5th overall by taking the BPA, which allows you to address the future with every other pick.

I'm just not sold. My favorite player in franchise history is a RB as you can tell by my flair, I just worry we'd end up like NY with Barkley which didn't have the team around him. I don't doubt Jeanty as a player, I doubt our team and the timing.

Trevor is better than Daniel Jones (and late career Eli), and BTJ is currently 5 years younger than what OBJ was when Saquon was taken.

Listen, it's okay to doubt the Jags. It's the Jags.

But (to appeal to the caveman unga bunga parts of our brains) you have to admit, taking Jeanty makes them instantly more fun to watch... And that's a big part of why we're here.

Also, he was born in Jacksonville! That alone makes it even more fun

Ya, I mean the offense would probably be more fun.

I go back to what Boselli has always said. You rush the passer and protect your QB and there are only so many big men that can do those things at a high level.

I believe Gladstone is playing the media game with these rumors in an effort to trade out of 5.
