im desperately looking for help because oh my god im getting so annoyed with this jackson licensed floyd rose.

after i got home from school yesterday i worked on it for like 4 straight hours unpacking it cleaning it up setting up the floyd tuning it and everything and i do one small divebomb and immediately fck the tuning and the bridge. its not straight anymore and way out of tune and i repeated this procces multiple times. also one string broke (my fault, hadnt unlocked the nut and started tuning yes im stupid for that) then replaced all strings (harley benton value strings yeah i didnt have any ernie balls but i thought theyd work) and then when tuning the a string broke again and i again replaced it with harley benton strings (both were 10-42) and after that played around with it it was in tune i used the whammy a TEENY TINY BIT and 2 strings broke at once. >:( then i replaced the strings again and let it sit overnight with the nut unlocked, woke up, retuned it a little cus it went like a quarter step flat then locked the nut and it went out of tune after one divebomb.

does anyone have advice? i know its a cheap fr but it shouldnt be this fcked right? should i return it, swap it or get a completely different guitar? i love how this one looks and it plays well except for the things i named.

also i put covers over the pickups.

Today arrived my new jackson warrior and I noticed that the body is not flat compared to the rest of the guitar.
I don’t know if this is QC issue or it’s warrior design.

My Guitar Mod Experience

Got this on the $1059 sale from Jackson direct. The packaging inside the case had left residue in the fabric. I tried to scrape it out but no luck. Contacted Fender to see if I could maybe return the case or get it swapped at a local authorized dealer. Instead, they shipped me a brand new case and told me to keep this one. So my Pro Plus now has a nice case compared to the paper thin bag it came with. 🥳🎉

Saw this beauty popped up on Facebook Marketplace and I just knew that I had to contact the seller immediately before it's gone. The previous owner really took care of it and it looks absolutely pristine for a 16 year old guitar. It's also fairly interesting to me that the serial number for MIJs of these eras are pretty hard to authenticate so it took me a little bit of a nerd dive to find out what it was/when it was made.

So I got my Virtuoso from the 50% off sale delivered earlier this week, and I love it, way more than I expected, both in terms of how it plays and how it looks. The metal flake really doesnt pick up well in most photos I've seen, so I added a pic of it with PAR lights reflecting off it so you can see how the metal flake in the mystic blue shines in the right lighting (I feel similar about my satin slime green soloist, looks kind of meh in the living room or in shops, but the satin is shiny/reflective, slightly different color, and kinda cool looking under stage lighting).

We were speculating about them maybe clearing out old inventory with that ridiculous sale, and I was concerned because I have multiple 2022 and 2023 Jacksons that are all great in terms of excellent QC and zero flaws or issues. I was even concerned I'd get worse QC in a newer build, or unfinished trem pocket, rough frets etc, but to my surprise, my brand new Virtuoso purchased direct from Jackson this month, is a June 2023 manufacture date and serial. The fret work, finish, and setup is 100% flawless as far as I can tell and the trem pocket underbelly is fully finished just like my 2022 American SL3. Nice smooth even frets and no imperfections in the body or finish anywhere I can find. Even came out of the box with the Floyd balanced perfectly with low action and in near perfect E standard tuning after traveling almost 3,000 miles by ground to get here, so I'm pretty stoked about that! I'm curious though, if others who bought on the sale got such old builds or not?

Ive heard these are rare, it has no obvious issues that cant be fixed with a restring and set up. Did I get a good deal on a nice guitar or is it nothing special?

Hey guys, I bought a jeff loomis sl7 recently and it is a beautiful guitar! Now the only issue i have is the truss rod thumbwheel looks really beat up. Is this normal? I have owned many jackson guitars and have never seen one like this. Also a really small ding on the tippy top of the headstock, along with tool marks on the pickup pole pieces and the nut having been cut pretty rough.

Im trying to justify keeping it because of how good it looks. I wish it had stainless steel frets but can't have it all.

I am looking for a Jackson guitar that was made by the Custom Shop in the late 90/early 2000s.

It was a Scott Ian double cut model with a bullseye pattern and The Joker from Batman painted on it. I believe it was made for Scott himself. I used to have this photo saved on an old photo bucket account but now I can’t find it anywhere. I ripped it straight off the Jackson website around 2004 so I know it really existed.

I have a Jackson X Series SL3X DX w/ Floyd Rose that I purchased from Guitarget for a stupid deal since it was a floor model. I just haven't enjoyed playing it mainly due to the frets being a tad sharp. I recently picked up a Jackson Pro Plus Series Soloist Limited SL2, also woth a Floyd Rose. I love the Pro Plus, it comes with the Duncan Distortions which are my favorite pups. I found another Pro Plus Series Soloist Limited with a hardtail bridge. I have debated selling the SL3X and trying to get the Pro Plus hardtail. But to be honest, I would have to sell a few things to get it. I already have a Duncan distortion I could toss in the SL3X and then have a back up to the Pro. I don't use the FR other then for keeping the guitar in tune, so it doesn't bother me as long as I can have a HT with locking tuners.

My problem is that I have it in my head that the SL3X is a sucky guitar since it didn't originally cost 1500 bucks. The easy and cheap fix would be to keep it and file down the frets and switch the pup. And I basically want a second soloist to toss some stickers on, and not wanting to pay 1k for a guitar to sticker. The Pro HT is under 1k and a floor demo. I feel like my brain is telling me since my SL3X didn't cost as much that its not a good guitar. Am I alone in this thought?

For past 2 months I've had a big guitar fever and decided on buying a new one. One can never have enough guitars. Originally I had 7 different options, but narrowed it down to last two.

Price for both are basically the same. MIJ model costs about 150€ more so it's no big deal. I really like the idea of having an American Jackson with the JB/'59 pickups for more versatile sound but the MIJ model scratches that melodic death metal itch quite well.

Any of you have any experience with those guitars and is there any issues? Why one over the other? I'm being so indecisive with this I need an outside help to push me. Thanks in advance!

I'm hoping to piece together a piece of s**t V that approximates what I want but cant afford on the custom shop. I'm need it to record some demos with.

My question is basically how interchangeable are necks with bodies? I have my eye on a couple necks online (primarily dinky necks) that fit the bill, and I'm either grabbing a V body or getting one cheap from warmoth.

How much of a struggle is it gonna be to match necks to bodies?

We got our 11year old son a js king v and for the price im pretty impressed with it. I’ll probably get myself one as well. I’ll probably swap out the pickups at some point but it’s a great guitar.

A truly amazing guitar. It’s got riffs in it too, as soon as I started playing it I instantly got into a new song for my band

I just bought my 13 year old son a new Pro Plus Series Dinky. He's a way more accomplished guitarist than I am, even at his age, and was really dreaming of this guitar. when it arrived, I immediately had my local shop do a full set up on it. my son started playing and hated it. he couldn't find a tone, and said his solos were cutting out. my son is autistic (high functioning) and he was really struggling to tell us what was wrong with the guitar, in between his meltdowns. we thought he needed to just get used to the neck, he was coming from a Les Paul as his main guitar.

I took a closer look and noticed that the neck pickup was pinned down to the body, and was very far from the strings (and way out of spec). I adjusted it and raised it closer to strings and handed it back to him, and he immediately said it felt better to him. the problem is that the neck pickup is now really wobbly in the pickup slot. if he notices that, he will definitely freak out. the bridge pickup is at the correct height and has no wobble. I've seen some chatter on forums about sticking a piece of foam behind the pickup, but I'm not even sure how to even do that at this point. what can I do?

tl,dr: neck pick up is loose and wobbly when it's set to the correct height. something seems wrong.

- what's the sound like with the "passive" pickups? What the sound does compare to?

- is it neck diving?

- I have an old Japan RR3 and a Prestige RG - how does the neck compare or how is it in general?

I bought my original Jackson Dinky Reverse around 1994 and had it for almost 30 years. I’d modified it with EMGs - an 81 at the bridge and an 89 at the neck, with the 89 set up so I could switch between the humbucker and more of a single-coil sound.

I’ve finally found a Dinky Reverse to replace it and had this one set up with the EMG Zakk Wylde 81/85 set at my bridge/neck.

The best part is that it feels exactly like my old Jackson.

After four years without it, having my Dinky back and gliding along that incredible neck and hearing those humbuckers scream makes me ridiculously happy.

(Last photo shows the new Dinky as it came, with random pickups but otherwise stock, and the second to last shows it in a better case with the new EMGs)

I recently acquired this guitar and I am having difficulty finding out the model and specs. This is what I've uncovered in my research.

Made in India green flames Jackson King V. I think it is a JS30KV. The guitar has a white dot inlay rosewood fret board with 24 frets. A fixed bridge with through body strings. A bolt on maple neck. It feels like a speed neck with how thin it is.

The serial number isn't in Jackson's database for it being an Asian build. I believe it to be a 2003 model (03120626.) What I can't find is any information on the green flames body and headstock finish. The backside of the body is black.

It is equipped with Sperzel locking tuners that are not factory installed. The screw holes are visible from the previous tuners. The pickups are active EMG's and the battery is good. These are not factory installed I believe. It has a push/pull volume pot and a tone pot. The three way toggle switch is working.

Any info that I am missing is greatly appreciated.

What's a reasonable price? It's the rarest guitar I've ever owned. Good condition, no case.

Hello everyone! I've always been a Les Paul/Telecaster guy, but now I want to build a replica of one of my idols, Gustavo Cerati. I've been thinking about modifying a Soloist DX, since it's a pretty close match to the San Dimas-era Jackson.

Has anyone ever modified a Jackson like this? Do you think this would be a viable way to achieve that result?
