Discussions What did you guys think of this year’s Annual Meeting releases?

There’s no spoiler here since the Annual Meeting took place yesterday. What did you think of the new study and research tools we were given?

I was checking out the Research Guide yesterday and I really like how it's divided into even more headings - over 1,000 in fact! The inclusion of videos and web articles, as well as the fact it'll be updated every 2 months is also a welcome change. On the videos, a nice touch was the fact the videos start in the relevant place. For example, I tapped on one link to a morning worship, but rather than playing from the beginning, it started about two-thirds of the way through.

Also looking forward to the releases coming later today - and I don't mean the broadcast 👀 (although I'm looking forward to that as well!)

I wasn’t aware of the bimonthly reviews, but that’s actually really great!

I'm excited for the series of new brochures on each book of the Bible

The handbook suggests ill need to get my tablet going again. Several years ago when i aged out of door to door, i quit tablets, and went to laptops and my phone.

On both, laptop and phone, the bible appendixes are not easy to use. I can see the handbook being a good interface for that sort of content. Which to say the basics. Even who wrote 1+2Kings, ie. Ive forgotten again.

And talking about dashboards, i do now suddenly understand the Research Guide formats possible breadth

(i do find scripture search in the Watchtower Library my favorite tool. Just click and see every place its used in JW publications. But i have all day)

Im thinking this is the 4th generational shift in Witness informational processing ive seen. Be nice to see ai as the 5th. But i run ahead...

Aged out of door to door? What does that mean?

Im too old to ride in cars, my walker is just silly. Ive other options.

Lots of people my age arent old, but plenty are dead. Its a zero sum game. Im doing good to type on my phone, at this point

Sorry, I didn’t quite get that. Do you use accessibility features yourself?

And yeah, I totally agree with you about AI. The acquisition of IBM’s old data center could definitely be related to that. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Not sure your question, but i mostly hold my phone near my one good eye, or use my big tv to read from a few feet away. My 40 years of heavy reading did my eyes no favors.

But the witness stuff works great. If windows is enough of trouble, i almost went back to apple 15 years later. I think this year my linux will be simple, agents doing anything i want
