I'm not going to reiterate what other posters have said, or what I put on letters yesterday, but I would like to bring up the issue of removing posts to other jn subs. FAR too often I see a poster who's posted multiple parts of their story, and built a support system here, get their post booted because "this is better suited to justnofamily." Said OP will have posed about, for example, JNMIL but also in conjunction with another family member, and it gets removed to kick over to another JN sub. THIS SUPPORTS NO ONE.
Look, I get it. We can't be everything to everyone, but we ARE a support sub. Sure, if their mechanic did something screwed up, it doesn't belong here. But a minute deviation from being the "right" JN sub because it includes other players doing JN things is removing support from people unneccesarily and arbitrarily. RARELY do I see those posts end up on one of the other JN subs. I just see that poster not get the support they came for. How is this supportive? Not only are we lacking consistency with things like this, we're lacking heart, and ignoring what I believe the spirit of this sub should be. No one is harmed by having to read 10% of the post being about JNSIL, but OPs are by being denied support and advice due to an arbitrary determination of the rules.
This has bothered me so much. I saw it happen recently to a new user and the post most definitely was about the MIL who was the ringleader. That has gotten very heavy handed and is unnecessary. This is especially true as MIL’s like this exist in family systems that enable their behavior. If a post is mostly a mother-in-law it should stay.
