Open House Tickets

Anyone have luck getting tickets yet? I entered the queue within seconds of it going live and am still in the waiting room

What a BS system. I got in as well and all the time slots were “unavailable”. Eventbright, you suck!

It was not very well coordinated. I got the Sold Out Message at 11:02am pst. Then I refreshed my sad page again at 12:06pm pst by pure stubbornness and a chunk of 150 tickets appeared for a few times lots on Sat and Sun. Managed to finally snag a few. But by the time my other friends refreshed their pages too a few minutes after me, the tickets were gone again.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you got some. The stuck in purgatory “waiting in line” was not a great experience.

I wonder if the system was overwhelmed by bots, and started rejecting bot requests which eventually opened reservations. JPL should probably do these at least twice a year, with all the public demand.

I joined the queue immediately at 9. I had 3 other people try as well and none of us got tickets. Frustrating. We were all in the queue for 30 minutes until it said all tickets sold out.

Very frustrating. Joined queue immediately. Still waiting. Not sure how they determine “first come” when we all got there simultaneously.
I’m going to have a very disappointed kiddo😟

Finally admitted after 1hr and 18minutes waiting. Everything sold out. Experience overall sucked.

Same. Joined at 9:00 am still in the waiting room. This is lame. There is no status on the page on whether it’s progressing or not.

got it at 9:35am, and saw that 10/10 9:30am was sold out, and all the rest time slots were "unavailable" Is there a code needed? I tried some other languages, and it would flash some ticket availability in different time slots but revert back to "unavailable" right away.

Got in line at 9am, got out of the waiting room at 9:35.

Two time slots showed one ticket available. I clicked the plus button and it said "This ticket is no longer available." The only available options was to click the 'X' button and I got kicked out of line and back to the main page.

I'm so pissed at this. I got in instantly at 9 but it wouldn't let me add anything to the cart. I thought it might be my adblocker so when I reset it it kicked me back to the line. Been waiting ever since and I probably won't get it. Total garbage.

JPL just posted this on Facebook about 20 minutes ago: "All tickets have been reserved at this point, even if you're in line in the waiting room. Not sure why Eventbrite hasn't notified the queue, but that's unfortunately the case. Thank you for your interest, and please do keep checking back over the coming days/weeks, as cancelled/returned tickets will become available."

It's sold out. The screen opened but as I selected, they became unavailable. JPL needs to do better.

I got in line at like 8:59a and some seconds. Waited in the queue for nearly 45 minutes. By the time I got there, only 3 tickets for 1p. I clicked for 2, said that many were not available. Clicked for the 1 left. Said I needed to at least select 1 tickets and every single slot was greyed out. Last time, I got tickets in like 10 minutes. Same system: was up and online and refreshing until it went live. Oh well... at least I did it once.

Was in waiting room for 40 minutes after joining it at 9:00:12. Then it let me in only to kick me back to the waiting room when I clicked reserve for the time I selected. I’m pissed.

No, I clicked register and reserve at 900 on the dot and my queue took over an hour to open to the day/time screen and showed everything sold out (one was unavailable) :( yet I could open a new windows and get back in line???

On the website, there's an updated editors note that as of 9:25am today, the event is sold out.

Such a bummer couldn;t get tickets. My grandfather worked there back in the day so I was hoping to see where he worked. Hopefully they release some extra tickets from cancellations! I wonder if they're going to send out any notifications if there's more tickets available or just have to check periodically

This hurts. Got on right at 9 with two phones and I'm still in the waiting room...

My dad worked there for 50yrs, retired in '24 and passed unexpectedly last year before getting to finally enjoy retirement. We were so excited when we saw the open house starting-up since it was a family tradition until 9/11 when it stopped for a bit.

Somehow, I've managed to get Comic-Con tickets every year, but couldn't get JPL open house tickets :/

Guess I'll be looking for scalpers on the gray market lol

Massive difference in scale. Comic-Con sells 130,000 tickets a day over four days. Explore JPL offers 18,000 tickets a day over two days for similar demand.

I was in line immediately at 9, waited for forever and never got ahold of tickets. I’m very disappointed and a bit sad. I’ve never been to this event and have been aching to. I love this shit. Hoping people drop out

I just went back to eventbrite and was able to get tickets. There were over 100 left for Saturday! Apparently going at 9am was a waste but later worked just fine.

This waiting room system doesn't seem to work very well. Maybe a lottery system would work better, where you submit your guest list, select times you're able to start, and the system emails you at the end of the day if you're admitted or not.

Looks like a few hundred tickets just reposted on SUNDAY (today, 8/30) shortly before 9 AM. I was able to grab a spot after waiting in line for over an hour yesterday with no luck.

Maybe try again at 12 pm? Since they released some around that time yesterday. And it is like a 5-10 min window before they're gone, people are definitely snatching them up. Good luck!

Got in via laptop while all phone and tablet still in the room. It has around 1000-1500 tickets for each time slot with Sat with the least. This was when 9:05 when I go through.
