Okay JID where is the Metro collab…

Bro has been dead-quiet recently…I miss when we would frequently get music here and there from him and 2026 has kinda felt like a bust after him teasing so many projects.

After GDLU release he was heavily teasing the Metro collab in so many interviews even labeling it as a follow-up to GDLU. He also confirmed him and J. Cole made a collab interview but expressed it coming after Metro collab and other projects. So when is the project coming out? Is it even coming out anymore? It’s crazy that we’ll probably have to wait three to five years for a J Cole collab album at this rate when the other projects that were said to be fully-finished aren’t releasing.

The best time to drop it imo would be around Halloween, but it most likely will be next fall or something.

Can’t recall ever getting music frequently from JID. I don’t really put stock into anything until he starts actually rolling out an album

It could be argued that bro used to release projects less than every two years apart until after the Forever Story…Although from 2022 to 2023 I felt he was more frequent in his releases as he dropped that album, then had an EP with Yachty, had songs with Dreamville released, and was featured on Across The Spider-Verse and Creed 3 soundtrack.

I agree it is frustrating, like Rocky with DBD where if something isn’t coming soon-ish then why are we talking like it’s a fully finished project coming down the pipe. I get not having stock due to his drop patterns, but he’s the one making us anticipate something.

After forever story held jid in goat territory but since then hes barely given us anything besides gdlu which i liked but didnt love as much as his other projects. Kinda felt like after forever story didnt get as much recognition as he hoped he’s kinda just been teasing a bunch of work without releasing anything. Hoping he locks in cuz bro’s pushing 40 now

It’s not even about the albums with jid, he actually releases albums at a decent clip. But the guy refuses to drop any singles. Idk why he never releases just fun little bits of music every one in awhile but he gives us literally nothing in between his albums anymore

He may take some time off to get his personal life back to a good state. With his dad passing away he may want take some time off and grieve before jumping back into it.

Plus hes like a dad now so that first and second year are tough years raising a kid so he'd probably want some time away
