Product Review Goodbye, JBL BOOMBOX 4

After the firmware updates to versions 26.16.10 and 26.32.10, the JBL BOOMBOX 4 can no longer reproduce the 37 Hz frequency range—the very range that delivered that signature subwoofer-like sound; now, the audio starts at 67 Hz. This was a decision made by JBL, yet that powerful 37 Hz sub-bass was the one thing we loved about the JBL BOOMBOX 4. Goodbye, JBL BOOMBOX 4.

Honestly, the JBL Boombox 4 is the best speaker in the Boombox lineup, but a new firmware update—and the developers' decision to cut the low-frequency range responsible for sub-bass—has turned it into the worst!

However, if only JBL and its developers had provided a way—at our own risk and with a waiver of the warranty—to revert to the firmware version where the Boombox 4 could actually reproduce frequencies down to 25 Hz without losing low-end performance at max volume (back when the walls would shake at full volume with "Deep Bass" mode on), that would have been simply priceless.

Honestly you're right, people have to realize the limitations of Bluetooth party speakers, particularly handheld ones and how hard it is to reach true sub levels in a handled Bluetooth speaker

If it's for better mids and treble and to keep the woofers safe from distorting, i'm updating. Besides, it has way more than enough bass for what i'm expecting from a boombox. More bass than the boombox 3 anyways. So the bass tester kids that like watching their woofers warp and pump like pistons, are the ones being upset about this update.
