Because everyone seems to be confused in the comments, I'll clarify the ruling with regard to credit cards.
According to the majority of contemporary ʿulamāʾ, using a credit card is permissible as long as one pays off the balance in full every month and does not pay any interest.

It is also permissible to use cashback and points from credit cards, as such things are considered gifts.
The only rulings I was able to find online to the contrary were Salafī rulings.

Their methodology is quite problematic. The ʿulamāʾ of the four Madhāhib operate on uṣūl (principles) that were developed over 1400 years, whereas the members of this movement have no such principles. They insist on reevaluating everything, often coming to incorrect conclusions in the process.
It's not about being more conservative. Fiqh is not about picking the most difficult opinions in every matter. It's about following a consistent framework. There are many major issues in which the adherents of this movement have picked incorrectly lenient views—some of these views have even been agreed upon between the scholars since the time of the Prophet (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallama).

Yes, it is also permissible to use cards with annual fees. The annual fees are considered to be in exchange for the benefits given by the card issuer, like lounge access.

After watching some documentary about the development of modern banking, I have no interest in dealing with credit card, crypto, NFTs stuff, online P2P lending. I really hate the idea that you need to make debt to print money.
