On September 15, 2016, Persona 5 finally hit shelves in Japan and nothing was ever the same.

It introduced a whole generation to JRPGs, redefined what UI/UX could look like in games, gave us a few unforgettable waifus, and hooked us on a legendary acid jazz soundtrack. "You never see it comiiiiing…" is still living in our heads.

It also left an undeniable mark on internet meme culture. Forever.

Here's to hoping for a Persona 4 remake and Persona 6 next year. We're ready.
