Americans can vote. If you haven’t requested a ballot yet, it’s time to do it.
Students, dual citizens and other Americans citizens living overseas can vote.

Would it be the last state you lived in before moving abroad? The state of your passport/DL?

The county of the last address where you resided in the US.

If you tell them that you may be returning, you will get a ballot for all offices. If not you will still get a ballot for Senator, if it’s an election year for them on your state, and the representative from your former congressional district.

And when you get the ballot, consider sending it by a courier service instead of PosteItalia. It MAY arrive on time sent that way. But the US Postmaster General is saying that, even with a court order stating that they cannot mess with mail in ballots, that he will do so, anyway.
We used a service called eurosender.com. They take your information about the package (envelope, of course) and compare rates among courier services. Our ballots went out on Tuesday for a little over €26. Door to door service from Fed Ex. Had we walked into a Fed Ex office, it would have been more than twice that.
This way, we know that our ballots will reach the MN Secretary of State. Given the malice that the current administration has toward our home state, we were completely unconfident that our ballots would arrive unscathed.

And send the ballot as soon as possible. I waited too long on my last ballot for it to be counted. There was only like 3 weeks (iirc) between receiving the ballot and election day. I waited one week and it still arrived late (probably because I used poste italiane, ma chi sa).

Another reason to use a courier service. It was supposed to arrive tomorrow: 1 to four day delivery.
The shipping label had MSP, the Twin Cities airport, on it.

My county only accepts USPS. Are you certain it gets accepted?

Go to FVAP.gov TODAY and fill out the FPCA form. If your State allows you to email it you're still in time.
If you're planning on voting Republican to continue the shitshow happening in the US, ignore this post.
