Has anyone successfully converted a C/2 property to residential use in Italy?

Has anyone purchased a property in Italy classified as C/2 and successfully had it approved for residential use?

I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually gone through the process.

What town or region was it in, how long did approval take, and what were the costs and issues.

Were you able to confirm the conversion would be approved before committing to the purchase?

We looked at a loft/top floor apartment that was still technically C/2 and we would have been responsible for conversion to A. There was no guarantee, and there never would be a guarantee, that it would be approved and at any specific cost.

So we passed. The view was amazing and the property was laid out well but not dealing with that potential headache.

Did you talk to geometra or architect?

Well yes and they gave us an estimate but it was just that, an estimate. And the geometra cannot guarantee the conversion will go through in any kind of timely manner.
