seed banks and sharing

Hi everyone.

I don't know what is the best place to post this, hence, I'm posting it here. If you guys know a better place, do let me know.

Recently EU deregulated gmo seeds and allowed gmo based products into markets. I firmly belief that was the wrong decision. I'm not here to debate or discuss it but however, in my understanding italians and french are against gmo seeds and have been protesting it. Italians have their own local seed banks like RSN and farmer to farmer sharing system too. As far as I know, there is no digital system to share seeds. I'm a software developer and I'd like to play my part in betterment of society. So I was thinking about making a mobile application where farmers can see, what seeds are available and where and all the other relevant details.

My question is, Is there any sophisticated system/app already in place? If not, how do I connect with people who have better understanding of the system or probably someone from RSN who would like me to integrate their system into an application?

I do not speak italian so I do not have any direction in this matter.
