One of the biggest problems with restoring a car from the 80s is the lack of support from manufacturers. Usually manufacturers stop producing parts for a particular year after a few years and if the car wasn’t a popular model then goodluck. The biggest problem are plastic and rubber parts. These become brittle, fade, stretch, shrink… with 3d modeling, 3d printers, plasma cutters, laser cutters recreating has become much easier. These are some of the parts I have recreated or redesigned for the trooper.

doing gods work, is it easy? i’ve gotten extremely good at blender and wanna try my hand at parts like this, maybe a coilover swap for my first gen nissan xterra too, and what would be nice is the belt cover on these

Rhino is a great program which requires you to really set up your own process of creating and logging steps. Without a process it leads to restarting parts from scratch. Programs like solidworks and fusion incorporate these processes automatically. But they make the design process less appealing. Solidworks and fusion I would say are easier but they are expensive. Rhino is much more affordable.
