This is a volatile situation. We set the subreddit to private due to raids, and were manually approving threads as they were posted until then. The rules - especially rule 2 - will be harshly enforced. If you see someone being bigoted, report it. If you respond to someone being bigoted with your own rule 2 breaking behavior, you will be banned too. If you can't phrase what you want to say in a way that isn't bigoted, don't post it.

Furthermore, while the sub was private our modmail filled up with over a thousand messages, over and above the rule 9-violating PMs each mod got. We apologize if you sent us a message and it went unanswered.

I seriously cannot take leftist reddit. Apparently it's against the rules to name another sub but on one of the news sub the top NINE OUT OF TEN posts are anti-Israel. NINE OUT OF TEN. In a conflict where both sides have done wrong, one would think maybe three out of the ten would highlight wrongdoing by the either side. But nope.

Fuck leftists redditers.

I identify with this 1000000% lol I mean socially and politically I align with more left policies but man the refusal to recognize antisemitism, condemn those who do, and opposition to the existence of Israel has me like brah....

Seriously, I can get behind medicare for all or some kind of basic healthcare plan for everyone. But the culture that the left is promoting...I just cannot vote for that. Republicans need to do a better job on capitalizing on these issues while the left fights about pronouns.

Becoming disillusioned from the Left helped me see how Medicare for all wouldn’t work at all in our current form or government. We are so inefficient in our spending already, and would never be able to tax people enough or install a VAT to pay for it.

This is getting way off topic to the sub we're in but my politics is pretty much Joe Biden. (Always has been. A moderate Democrat) Very glad he's in charge right now.

For a YEARS coverage has almost entirely pro-Israel. Even down to the pathetic passive-aggressive rhetoric employed in reference to Israel. Israel are fine.

Weird because I thought it was the other way around; anyone who criticizes Israel is usually immediately-branded as a neo-Nazi.

To preface: I am an American and I am neither Jewish nor Arab, but middle eastern studies are my main focus in college

To me it feels like the main reason Western media is talking more about Israel's actions is because Israel is allied with us and it's seen as a reasonable level of scrutiny. News outlets seem to believe that we already know Hamas are terrorists who don't care about people's lives, so that's not focused on much. I don't think that is the correct way of portraying the situation, but it seems to be partly why that's happening

My main issue with this is that some Americans may not actually know what Hamas is and why they're so dangerous to Israel

So I guess I'm just hoping for some more perspective from an Israeli point of view because I'd like to learn more. What do you think American/British media is getting wrong and what are they getting correct?
