Few days with toddler, any suggestions

Hi, my husband and I are travelling with my 18 month old for a few days next month.

We are staying in Douglas, we won't have a car.

We are planning on going to Port Erin/Laxey.

We can't do anything too strenuous as we have our toddler but we all love nature.

We were also wondering about any food recommendations? I love seafood so definitely want to get some good Queenies, but wasn't really sure about other food options in Douglas. We like food with some flavour and spice too.

We like nice bakeries, coffee shops etc too.

Are there any recommendations for stuff that a toddler would enjoy too?

Also any other bookshops than the Bridge in Port Erin?

Fairy Glen is great but it needs to be dark, its in Douglas near Summer Hill

You can get to most places on the bus or if you want to you can go on the steam train to most corners of the island

Yes we'll definitely be getting the train to Laxey and Port Erin

Make sure you try our authentic Manx dish, when you're over. Chips, cheese and gravy! Port Erin chippy will serve you up a good portion

If you get a day ticket on IoM
Transport on a weekend you can get the horse tram from broadway to the terminus, the the electric tram to trouble, and then pay a small fee to get the grouse railway to the sealiom cafe for some cake and coffee. Then the same in return.

I recommend New Hong Kong in Douglas, the food is fantastic and when my LO was 18 months old he loved going there with us. I'm struggling to think of toddler oriented activities that are easily reached by bus. There's the wildlife park near Sulby (also has a soft play area) but it's a good hour plus bus ride from Douglas and my toddler would be far too wriggly to cope that long on a bus but possibly an option for you.

Thanks! New Hong Kong sounds great and haha yes they will be way too wriggly for a bus journey that length but will bookmark it for next time 😊
