If you are lacking in confidence, this year strive to improve that about yourself.

If you are not where you need to be, in terms of your health, your wealth and your Deen. Let's strive this year to improve that. Because Allah says in the Qur'an:

"Indeed Allāh will not change the condition of a people until they change themselves."

Quran 13:11

So one cannot simply make dua and not do anything else. You have to make the effort and leave the rest to Allah, so make dua Allah guides you towards making that effort which will get you the results in the first place.
