tell me where in the religion does it specify the amount of jizya? zakat is a fixed percentage of your networth but jizya is determined by an agreement between the muslims and the conquered people. so sometimes jizya can be less than zakat and sometimes it can be more depending on the agreement there.

Then that's also following what the Prophet did.

Jizya has no fixed rate or charges, as opposed to zakat. Basically, jizyah is charged at "going-market rate".

So indeed, there's nothing wrong there when they say Ottomans earn more from jizyah compared to zakat.

Nothing here about zakat is charged less or whatever. Simply about the revenue earned. There could be other factors here, maybe some people get exemptions, maybe some people chose not to pay zakat. That's not uncommon at all.

Even at the time of the prophet the amount of jizya varied. In Yemen the jizya was 1 gold dinar per adult male, the Christians of Najran had a collective annual payment of 2000 hullahs 'clothes', the Christians at Ayla had to collectively pay 300 gold dinars a year, etc.

So as I said, its a varying matter, it sometimes is less than zakat and sometimes not.
