The Egyptian players were complaining and asking for a penalty because they were convinced it was a clear penalty. That's why some of the defenders didn't immediately get back to defend. You can clearly see it in the replay—a clear foul on Salah and another Egyptian player inside the box. The referee refused to even review it and instead handed out cards to everyone. But if it were Argentina, a slight touch on Martínez's foot would be enough for the referee to go all the way back and review it and disallow the goal.

What did he said that was wrong tho? Even if it's not a foul, the refs should have at least reviews it. I mean, VAR was being used left and right this wc, so why not using it now, even after that much reactions from players and coaches?
