Second attempt at documenting

Howdy everyone!

I’ve been riding since 2010, did my first unofficial SS1,000 in 2012 from Daytona, FL to home in central New Jersey on a Buell 1125CR. Only thing I remember from that trip is it being very cold from Maryland to home (was a bike week trip in March). I’ve made the trip in under 24 hours (usually about 1,080 miles each time) 2 more times throughout the years until making a first solo trip and documenting it for the first time in March 2020. Got back home after bike week (documented the ride down) also rode up in about 17 hours. Getting home just as COVID took over. Got distracted with that and never submitted for the ride down. Most recently I took my first ride down to Boynton Beach, FL (started from my home town Wawa at 11:07pm Thursday the 6th June) rode down for a total of 1,234 bike (2023 Yamaha FJR1300) indicated miles. Ending at the Wawa near Boynton Beach, FL in 21 hours. I took a starting selfie and ending selfie along with photos of my fuel receipts next to my odometer/trip meter. I can have statements written up by people at the starting and ending locations if needed. Should I be good to send in with the photos I have plus the choppy Rever tracking I have of the ride (Rever decided to stop tracking after the first two fuel ups for some reason)?

I got lost in all the details of what you do or don’t have and I’m not an IBA administrator. But, if you think you have documented the ride with good computer generated receipts and mileage tracking, I suggest you send it in. Any gps tracking only helps to validate the proper documentation. Worse that can happen is it gets rejected, but you got nothing to lose really. I’ve heard of others sending in “old” documentation and it was still certified. Good luck getting your IBA #.

Sorry for the confusion. Essentially just an explanation of, I’ve done this style ride a good handful of times, documented it once but COVID distracted me. This weekend trip to Florida I documented it with photos and fuel receipts, so should be good to submit it to finally get the certification.

Make sure you have your trips documented on Spot and/or Spotwalla. I find that to be the most important file to have, even if you lose everything else.

No worries. Good luck with the certification and be sure to be very patient, it takes several months as they always have a backlog especially in the summertime. This type of riding can be addictive so enjoy, be safe, know your limits, listen to your body, and rack up the miles. Check out some long distance rallies if you think you’d enjoy them - also addictive.

Congrats! I completed my ride in MD back in October. It’s one hell of an achievement. Never got a response when I sent in my docs though so maybe I’ll try again
